give me hope in the darkness ☾ Byron & Peggy
He watched Peggy wake into consciousness. “I need your help, Peggy,” he replied grimly when she asked. Serving the asshole who murdered me, he thought but kept it to himself. He absolutely did not want to talk about it and wanted it off his mind for the night. “Never mind where I’ve been. I need your help and I don’t have much time,” he dismissed hurriedly.
Byron was about to begin explaining his situation and what help he needed from her when Peggy decided to push it just a little bit. And then way over the edge. "… Just thought I’d let you know." Byron clenched and unclenched his fists, trying to calm himself down. Fortunately for the psychic, Byron was still in his ghostly state, otherwise he would have strangled her. “Peggy,” he began through gritted teeth. “I think I’d know that I’m a fucking ghost!” he shouted. “I was fucking there and that son of a bitch chained me up and drew all this shit on me!!” he yelled as he pointed to all the scars he sported. “I SPEND ALL FUCKING DAY WITH MY MURDERER SO FOR FUCK’S SAKE HELP ME ALREADY!!!” he boomed, the curtains and a few furniture flying up. He focused his anger on the bed, which suddenly flew into the air and threw Peggy off.
He floated to where Peggy had landed and bent down. “Listen close. If you don’t help me now, I swear on my dead body, you will pay for it.” He broke into a wicked grin. “And it won’t be pretty.” He looked around for her crystal ball or whatever voodoo shit she used to tell the future. “Now, where’s your crystal ball? I need you to tell the future,” he commanded.
"Sorry!" she exclaimed.
She fell off the bed and rolled into the wall. She groaned. Her ribs ached from the impact but she was sure nothing was broken. She sat up face to face with Byron. If someone had murdered him she could see why. He probably made a lot of enemies with his temper. Murder was a little drastic but she could see the logic behind it.
"You need me to... tell your future?" she echoed.
Peggy was not a real psychic. Right now she didn't want Byron to know that she wasn't a real psychic. She feared that if he caught her in a lie he'd be even more furious. She got up and looked around for her light up crystal ball. It wasn't even real. It was battery operated. She picked it up anyway and brought it back to Byron.
"Uh, this isn't my usual crystal ball," Peggy said. "It won't mess up your reading or anything. It's just tackier, I guess. So... uh... What do you want to know about the future, anyway?"
