"...World-famous hero?" That gets a confused look mirrored right back at Silver. Last they knew, G.U.N. was still actively trying to convince the planet that aliens didn't exist, and that nothing happened off the coast of Hawaii, and that there is nothing strange in Green Hills, Montana. All the humans back home were forced to sign a NDA about the Mobians' existence.
Not that it's stopped them from helping out with local crime here and there. He really likes the sound of actually being called a hero. Silver doesn't sound sarcastic when he says it, that is. It makes him puff up his chest a little, even though there's a voice in the back of his head reminding him that he's probably not the same Sonic as the one this other kid knows.
"You're literally the only other hedgehogs I've met, like, ever in my life so far! So, like, hi! What's your name? Where are you from? Do you have a favorite food? Color? Though, we're proooobably not from the same timeline, I'd still like to get to know you so—" Sonic quickly mumbles the last part, feigns a cough, then laughs and flashes an easy grin despite himself.
He's about to open his mouth again to say something else— when he realizes just who else Silver was talking about. He gasps, eyes widening, and then he's very excitedly pulling out his phone (that's miraculously yet to run out of battery, though there's clearly no signal), and practically shoves it in Silver's face. He doesn't seem to quite know what personal space is, or has forgotten it in light of new information.
The lock screen's wallpaper shows a group photo of Sonic, Tails, and the very same Knuckles Silver will recognize— as well as two adult humans posed behind the iconic trio, smiling very fondly.
"Knuckles is here?! Did he look like this? What about the other people in this photo— have you seen them, too? Wait— why did Knuckles—" A very brief pause. He tilts his head. Squints. Blinks. The lightbulb going off in his head is clearly visible.
"Ohhh, wait, nevermind, I think I have a couple ideas why he'd do that, if it is my brother we're talking about— REALLY sorry 'bout that, he's still getting used to people! I'll be sure to talk to 'im—Actually, where'd you see him last, d'you know?"
