never not absolutely loving the interaction in episode 4 with farah going “i just assumed you’d been his assistant for years” and todd asking “why’d you think that?” only for dirk to scream “todd! push my bum! make me go up!” right then and todd having to sigh and go “right. no, we just met. and i hate him.” and then proceed to go push dirk up a fence anyway.

the big man is the masculine dom and the dom is the top and the little man is effeminate and transgender but fully passes as a cis man and has top surgery but since he doesnt have bottom surgery he literally has to be a bottom theres no way for someone with a vagina to top and the bottom is the sub and they are both uncomplicatedly homosexual with zero positive emotions for women and they both have adhd and autism but only the kind of autism that doesnt actually disable you and they also crossdress but in a specifically humiliating way (why would a MAN wear a DRESS??? 🤪🤪 etc.) and they live together in a big house that they can both effortlessly afford and they're married and have 2 kids a dog and a cat (because Big man is dog coded and Little man is cat coded) and neither of them have jobs or lasting damage from canon events they've been through or physical disabilities or PTSD that I cant turn into Angsty Ship Content and the sun has a big smiley face and birds are just V shapes on the paper it doesnt have to be more complicated than that you dont have to flesh them out. you dont have to. and if you think about it wouldn't it just be soooo much effort to draw a whole bird?? youre just having fun its mean to ask you for detail. and my teacher lives at the school and the bus driver lives in the bus and everything is exactly the same :)

i miss what this used to be and tumblr is breaking what’s left of it. i cant imagine coming back to fandom stuff when people don’t talk to each other and the website itself is sabotaging the structures we’ve been relying on for like fifteen years. like. i posted art because i liked getting people talking about fandom stuff and seeing that. i liked being part of something.

you know a LOT more about dghda than me and have probably (re)watched it much more recently but they never do explain how they got the name the rowdy THREE do they? like theyre called that even though theres five of them and its not elaborated on why theyre called that or anything right?

i rewatch this show lot (like once or twice a year) and i always catch new things or get a new interpretation its enrichment for me

okay so /cracks knuckles

the show does kind of explain the name origins- not explicitly but theres dialogue and you can make the connection (also in the og script there really was just three of them and another was added when the script was revised)

so the dialogue in question is this:

Project Incubus was originally only three individuals. Once we added the fourth, things got out of control - priest, 2x03

vogel is the forth rowdy and more notably he is much younger than the others (for added context martin is considered one, gripps is two and cross is three- this is going by the numbers on their jumpsuits)

and project incubus was one of the first blackwing projects so presumably they were bought in 1988 (when blackwing first started, but i know it wasnt called blackwing originally- but riggins states it was bw specifically they were taken in for. the quote in question is in 1x05. i cant be bothered to look for it im sorry😭just trust me its that ep)

so, this is now in fanon/interpretation territory because the show does not give us a confirmed answer, but what i think is either: - martin/gripps/cross all knew eachother before blackwing and were calling themselves rowdy 3 back then - they met in blackwing and cause there were only 3, hence the name. and theyve been that for so long that when vogel showed up they werent gonna change it (plus rebellious punks, ofc theyre gonna reject the logic)

personally i think its the second option

I think it's a sign of good media when you have to reread or rewatch it to get the full experience. First time is for getting your brain blasted by the story and being confused second time is for knowing who's who and what's what and willingly getting your brain blasted again.

Third time is so you can more closely observe JUST the music, or the lighting, or the costumes, or any number of other angles of storytelling that usually pass by unnoticed on first and second pass because first and second pass you're still only paying attention to the story.

I highly recommend this. Costumers and composers and lighters are also telling a layer of story. Creature design is telling a layer of story. Camera shots are telling a layer of story. Props are telling a layer of story. Sets are telling a layer of story. Hair and makeup are telling a layer of story.

Paying attention to these elements ALSO reminds you that it IS a story, it's the work of hundreds of people behind the camera, people that aren't supposed to be seen and will sometimes never be seen.

A good film you can watch over and over and see something new every single time.
