Gaara gave a short-lived smile at her compliment, nodding once in recognition before continuing to sip his own tea. Despite her occasional annoyances, even the red head could agree this little change was beneficial- after all, he was smiling more and laughing more, it almost hurt his cheeks to use them this much.
He gave a grunt in response, standing up immediately. With a flick of his head, he motioned for her to stand as well and to follow him- beginning to head off to his half of the house.
âIâll show you then.â
She didnât think that he meant now, but she went with it anyways. Setting her cup of tea on the table, she stood up after him and started to follow after him. If she could remember correctly, he was leading her into the side of the house that he told her not to enter. Then again, they had become.. closer over last night. But she knew that it would take time to become more of a friend to him; than just a guest.
Letting out a light sigh, she continued walking, not really paying attention to anything around her except the ground. Yuuki had absolutely no idea what to talk about; since conversations didnât come naturally to her. So she hoped that he was fine with the silence as well.
Actually appreciating the silence, Gaara smiled to himself- leading her to the bathroom. He stood beside the door and gave it a light tap, resulting in it opening with a loud creek.
"Shower, bath, basin, towels," he listed, giving a nod. Not really understanding the context of privacy all-too-well, he conjured a sand eye in his hand once more and showed it to her.
"Do you wish me to keep an eye on you, like when you were sleeping?"

Naruto let out a slight yelp of surprise as he was pushed to the ground by the sand. He should of expected that to happen sooner or later. He pushed away the growling in his head from the Kyuubi about not letting Shukaku get away with something like that. He wasnât here to fight the beastâs battle. No, he wanted to improve the relationship, not worsen it.
Despite the sand hitting his face, Naruto grinned. He took Gaaraâs words as acceptance. âAlright!â He scramble to his feet and stood beside the red head. Though not too close, he knew what boundaries were. âI donât give up though, so you should be prepared to be seeing me often -ttebayo.â
âOften?â Gaara practically groaned, secretly cursing his own decisions. Spending time with this kid was tiresome enough, just watching him made the redhead exhausted. Nonetheless, he shook his head and grunted, âWhatever- but you get too close and,â at once, a sand tendril shot forward, point being so close to piercing through the blondeâs skull. âYou get to close and Iâll kill you, you hear me? I am not looking for friends.â
Naruto gave a wary look to the sand, his grin faltering slightly. Gaara really was very unpredictable. Heâd have to tread carefully and be sure not to do anything to anger him, that would require Naruto to think more than usual. âGot it.â He nodded before grinning once more. âBut we are goinâ to be friends.â That was Narutoâs newest goal; make friends with this slightly psychotic Sand ninja. And he would try to make it so no matter what. After all, he never went back on his word and he never gave up.
Gaara turned to argue with the leaf ninja, but in the end- he ended up giving a displeased grunt, shoving his hands into his pockets and walking down the street.
"I'm going. Trail me, if you must- but please do not be too loud."

Strangely enough, the jinchuuriki seemed to almost cower in the presence of the demon. What was Shukaku doing out of his head? This was not good.
ââŚWhy are you out? Who let you out? Why canât I hear mother anymore?â Gaara continued to burst out question after question, falling back as he was quickly intimidated by the demonâs presence. Suddenly, he was not sure of himself- scared for his safetyâŚ
It went to grab the tiny boy, but was halted when it noticed how hard the human was shivering. The sand demon swept itâs tail around to block the boy from backing away, before lowing itself down to his eye-level, golden orbs staring restlessly into pale green. If Gaara died from terror, he couldnât kill anymore, couldnât bring Shukaku the blood that gave itâs existence meaning. An unacceptable loss. Whatever had allowed the demon to momentarily escape confinement wouldnât last, it knew. It needed to control the boy.
âDonât be scared.â It almost crooned at the sand ninja, intent on calming them. It was only Gaaraâs belief that Shukaku was somehow his mother that gave the demon any semblance of control. It couldnât loose that link.
âHush now little one. Mother loves you. Let the sand taste you hate, your fear. Embrace it.â The sands rattled around them, and slithered against the jinchuurikiâs legs.
Quivering as his widened eyes watched the demon, refusing to blink- the terrified vessel would soon find his hearrtbeat start to slow. The demon's bellowing voice, though powerful, had a soothing effect on the young man.
Don't be scared.
Gaara closed his eyes and took in a deep breath.
Don't be scared.
As he felt the rough grains make contact with his skin, Gaara finally let out a breath of relief. Despite usually fearless, it was only the Shukaku he truly feared- after all, he knew perfectly well what it was capable of. Regardless, mother loved him- and in the end, that is what calmed him.
Pale eyes opened and looked up to the towering beast, "I have missed your voice- in your absence, my thoughts wavered. Regardless, I still killed, hoping to make you happy."
He slowly stood, before giving an almost child-like smile, "Are you proud of me?"
It was strange how over the years, Gaara had almost grown to become dependant on the company of the Shukaku. Brutal as the beast was, he relied on it for essential conversation and some form of acceptance, otherwise he would have gone mad (more so) years ago.
"So, has anything changed since my disappearance? I hope you all have stories to tell," the red head called out, arms folded across his chest as he slumped on his couch.
The Assignment [Starter with psychotic-gaara]
Gaara merely nodded, âGaara,â he responded before following her. Soon enough, they were both standing at the gates. Gaara didnât look too impressed, merely another mission and a pathetic waste of human effort.
Pale eyes looking to her, his lips finally opened to speak, âIâm afraid I was not told a single detail of the mission- so you will have to fill me in.â He more demanded than requested, staring her down with those piercing eyes of his.
Kaida felt her irritation rise at his demanding tone and despite what most people would think would be against her better judgement, she stared back at him, amethyst meeting jade, her glare as sharp as daggers.Â
âItâs an undercover assignment,â she explained coolly, âSome rich manâs son over in Kirigakure has been kidnapped and they need us to go in, infiltrate the group, get some info on the bastards, and then rescue the guyâs kid. What happens to the kidnapper and his little group is of little consequence once we actually save the boy.â
"I see," Gaara spoke as he nodded, "So- here's how it will go forth, I kill the ones who get in my way, and you rescue the son." He didn't give her any room to argue nor even respond, naturally rude as always. He began walking ahead, "And if you prove to be too slow or soft, I will discard the unnecessary baggage."

âBut you gave up..â Naruto mumbled, a brief sense of worry running through him at saying such a thing to the already irritated jinchuuriki. Though what he said was true. Gaara gave up trying to be accepted whereas Naruto didnât. He kept bugging people, regardless of how much the rejected him.
Naruto tilted his head to the side. If no one survived, how was he still stood here? âWe jinchuuriki gotta stick together though, right.â He grinned.
Gaara opened his mouth to protest, but instead, only responded with an angered growl. He turned his head away and the sand pushed the blonde over onto the ground. He decided not to argue, but Shukaku naturally told him to behead the boy before he had the chance to squirm away. Shukaku complained regularly about the demon fox, so naturally, he would wish to destroy his host.
Sand whipping Naruto across the face, more as a sign he was angered than a threat, Gaara grunted, âWhatever. Do what you want. Just donât get in my way.â
Naruto let out a slight yelp of surprise as he was pushed to the ground by the sand. He should of expected that to happen sooner or later. He pushed away the growling in his head from the Kyuubi about not letting Shukaku get away with something like that. He wasnât here to fight the beastâs battle. Gaara frowned down at her, a sand tendril quickly pushing her off. He answered with a quick, âNo,â before walking into the kitchen. He boiled some water and began to make himself and her tea- he was getting a little irritated over being touched so many times within such a small time frame. He didnât mind it to soothe her, but he truthfully wasnât used to it.
He looked at her over his shoulder, âWhat do you like to eat?â
A small frown tugged down her lips as she followed him. âWhy not?â She asked, though she knew that she was pushing it a little bit too far; but really, she thought that the plan would probably work and he would get sleep that he needed. A sudden realization crossed her mind; what if he really didnât want to sleep?
Letting out a light sigh, she walked over to a nearby table and pulled out a chair. It was incredibly dusty, but she didnât mind. Sitting down, she looked at Gaara and gave him a small smile. âI donât usually eat.â She replied, shrugging her shoulders a bit.
âUh⌠If I havenât already thanked youâ thank you for everything, Gaara.â Yuuki thanked, a soft smile on her face. She really was quite thankful for him letting her stay here and helping comfort her during the night.
âI said no, now drop it,â he growled, becoming more irritated by her constant pestering. He ruffled his hair before giving an irritated huff and went back to his tea. Pouring them both a cup of tea, he passed one to her regardless of whether she wanted one or not.
Own tea in hand, he sat on the floor infront of her. Despite him not sleeping, his attire was still different- black singlet and pants and his hair always had a habit of becoming unnaturally fluffy in the mornings. It was always strange. He took a sip before looking up at her, âItâs fine. Do you need a shower or anything? I just realized I forgot to show you where the bathroom was.â He ended up chuckling slightly at his own forgetfulness.
âYou know, if you want to be my friend, youâre going to have to put with me being annoying.â She commented, a playful tone hinted in her voice as she smiled at him. It was obvious that he was irritated, but then again, she could see why. Even she got irritated or annoyed when someone kept asking the same thing over and over. Nonetheless, she had a bad habit of doing so; hypocritical, some may say.
Taking the tea, seeing as it didnât look like he was going to not let her drink it. When he sat on the floor, she was going to question it, but decided against it; seeing as he probably liked to do his own things. Sipping her own tea, she smiled down at him. âThis is good.â She complimented, not used to foods or drinks.
When he mentioned the shower, she let out a small âhmâ of thought before nodding. âYeah, a shower would be nice.â Yuuki admitted, looking back down at him to meet his gaze, only to find him laughing. It brought a smile to her face.
Gaara gave a short-lived smile at her compliment, nodding once in recognition before continuing to sip his own tea. ooc; I apologize for the delay for the replies, fhdks I haven't had much of a muse lately. Regardless, I'm getting to my owing replies now, and if I miss any, feel free to tell me!

Gaara stood there, completely wide eyed as he now faced what he thought was his own inner demon. Somehow, he was able to see him. Face to face. What exactly was going on? It made the jinchuurikiâs head begin to ache.
âSh-Shukaku?!â He called out in disbelief, not understanding this at all.
The demonâs ear twitched, and he glared down at his container with one golden eye. How this tiny waste of flesh could hold him captive, he could barely fathom, but it did, and he raged all the more because of it. One small corner of his mind clasped onto sanity for a moment, and he wondered why his vessel was here in his mind-scape. He loosed a terrific growl from his throat, and leered down, the sands swirling around him as he bent lower.
âWhy the hell are you here? You should be killing! Bringing me blood!â His eyes swirled, malice shining in their depths.
Strangely enough, the jinchuuriki seemed to almost cower in the presence of the demon. What was Shukaku doing out of his head? This was not good.

Always aware of the sand slowly getting more agitated, Narutoâs face softened. âI am. Itâs possible to gain trust and love from others. It just..takes  lot of work, ya know?â He shrugged slightly. He would admit, being around Gaara made him nervous, but that was because of the unpredictability of him. âIâm being serious here. I want to be your friend.â
âI worked plenty- back when I had any sort of grasp on hope,â Gaara spat coldly. He took a step forward, giving an irritated snarl at the boy that stood infront of him.
âIf you want to be my friend, then you must have a death wish. I trust no one- and I let no one surviveâŚâ

The Assignment [Starter with psychotic-gaara]
At the end of the hall was where the jinchuuriki waited. Arms folded, leaning against the dry wall as he waited for his partner. Another useless mission, it must have been important to assign someone such as Gaara to it. Strangely enough, this time he was working with a single partner instead of the usual squad he tended to work in.
As she approached, Gaara raised his head slowly. A stranger. He prayed she would not be too annoying- even if she was, he could easily silence her with his sand. Seconds into their eye contact, Gaara was already to strangle her till she dropped- a smirk came to his lips as he imagined it.
Turning towards the door, he stated simply that his name was Gaara, and they needed to get going. He was never one to make pointless conversation, and this girl was no different.
She never so much as flinched when she saw who her partner was. Instead she just shrugged and agreed that the sooner they left the better. âIâm Kaida, by the way.â
She knew who he was, the whole village did. Unlike the rest of the village, however, she knew there were far more dangerous things out there then this boy. She had always beenâŚinterested in him, having watched him from a distance since they were children. She knew the second she saw him what their partnership actually meant.
So she finally decided to go through with it? She thought as she walked alongside him after getting her supplies. She walked along side him as they approached the gates of the city, her eyes cast to the view ahead of them.
Gaara merely nodded, "Gaara," he responded before following her. Soon enough, they were both standing at the gates. Gaara didn't look too impressed, merely another mission and a pathetic waste of human effort.

Kaida walked out of the council meeting room, feeling rather lethargic. The mission she had just been assigned was a complicated one indeed. She would be gone for several weeks at most and needed to leave that night.
None of this was what was keeping he mind preoccupied.
No, what was the deceptively sweet smile on her grandmotherâs face as she told her she would be working with someone else rather than her assigned team. When she inquired as to the identity of this person, her grandmotherâs smile had gotten wider.
âOh, youâll find out soon enough.â she had mocked. âHeâll be waiting for you.â
Kaida shoved her hands into her pockets, biting her bottom lip in anticipation as she continued down the hall, the doors to the building coming into view.
Waiting for me. She thought with a scoff . Waiting for me where? Would have been nice if they had mentioned where exactly he would be waiting for me.
At the end of the hall was where the jinchuuriki waited. Arms folded, leaning against the dry wall as he waited for his partner. Another useless mission, it must have been important to assign someone such as Gaara to it. Turning towards the door, he stated simply that his name was Gaara, and they needed to get going. He was never one to make pointless conversation, and this girl was no different.
âYou misunderstand,â Gaara shrugged, as if dismissing everything the man had to say to him, âI simply donât care how I stand on your level of personal morals. If they deserve to die, then by all means,â his lips began to stretch into that of a twisted grin, his eyes glinting something almost demonic, âLet them dieâŚâ
âNo one deserves to die! If someone has done bad things, then they should be sent to prison, not killed!â Yakuma ranted on. âWho are you to decide who deserves to die and who doesnât?âÂ
"I am Gaara," the jinchuuriki said, chuckling softly at the other, "That is who I am. I do not justify my killings with anything besides it gives me pleasure to see them sprawling on the ground, gasping for breath... blood spluttering everywhere..." He gave a shudder in delight, "It's almost fun."
