So... I've been putting off getting a Tumblr for ages and finally got the balls, so unfortunately this corner of the internet has another delirious loser to add to the masses. (affectionate)
Anyway, my name's Quinn (name changes, am i right?), I'm currently obsessed with Steddie/Stranger Things, but it branches out from there, so be prepared for anything. I draw and write a lot, either for the aforementioned ST or for my ocs, so maybe prepare yourselves for that since it kinda sucks, but I'm having fun.
Also, I make a new Meet the Artist every year for my insta, and I figured it’s about time to bring them over here! Give a little more depth to who runs this place

Very much so still in agreement with DoctorRiver Discodoll - if there was a "canon" Doctor Who AU timeline, it'd be that one I think - BUT ☝️ That's not gonna stop me from thinking about Doctor x Companion Discodoll
And it's not even just Discodoll anymore.
Because what if the Mark egos are all just regenerations of the same Gallifreyan? What if he had a Rygos companion a long time ago who died, but kept being reincarnated? What if the Doctor kept bringing him along because he missed his dear friend, slowly falling in love with him until no matter what he did, the interstellar companions would always find each other through every identity?
La La By, Spacestunt, Discodoll, Bloodymary, they're just the same two people meeting each other in different lives. Sure they never stay the same, personalities and minor changes come with their new lives. But the Doctor can never forget his face, and the Rygos can't fight the deep rooted calling he feels to this strange man.
The Doctor tries to stay away, to save them both from that agony no matter how much his hearts long for him again... But he always gives in. He swallows the grief of their last lives and the impending end to this one and god, how it hurts to know and watch him not know...
But the Doctor loves him. So much so he can't bear a lifetime without him, no matter how much it hurts to know he'll be gone again too soon...
Wilford's ending speech in WMW but it's him talking to Simon as he's dying in the Iron Lung and "So just for tonight, why don't we have a little fun?" is Simon on Erid with Grace, is this anything
Sci-fi horror movie, Simon playing a soldier and Grace playing a scientist. They meet thanks to the movie and become best friends backstage, doing goofy shit at each other from across set. They only interact once on camera but their IRL friendship gives their characters insane chemistry, shipping the soldier and scientist becomes the movie's biggest impact.
Simon and Grace love the idea - totally not because they realized they liked each other while filming those scenes - and they go all in during interviews and world premieres, giving the shippers all the material they could want. They advocate it so much that the entire cast basically see that ship as canon, and the winks they all give the camera behind Grace's and Simon's backs are not subtle.
They announce their relationship after a few months with separate posts on their social medias, "My soldier" and "My scientist" in their respective captions.
Life actually being intense for me rn but I also keep getting distracted by The Sillies to feel better, so when I think about my SBB teams I just feel like that R&M clip "I see your ass making Bloodymaries, I GOT YOU ON SATELLITE-"

Okay this got wAY more attention than I thought it would
I completely honestly just took this paragraph right as I came across it - aka out of context - to think about a not-so-forgiving Grace, so I went back to double check it and come up with a more lore accurate response to Filament Station
TLDR: Grace would hear Simon out, ask questions, take the time to let all the information sink in. He wouldn't necessarily forgive Simon, but Simon doesn't need forgiveness from some stranger in space. All Grace can offer is understanding.
Redell - the prisoner in question here - was a scientist working on a solar energy source in the Sahara. It was paid for by his New Zealand government, but he ended up embezzling money to fuel/pay off debts from his gambling addiction. He was away doing that, and those people died when the panels were activated when they weren't supposed to. Redell's imprisoned because he was in charge of that plant, and the embezzlement, obviously. Grace and Stratt get on him for definitely being guilty, Stratt especially blaming him because he wasn't at the plant to prevent the accident.
Grace's anger is deserved, and he speaks out about it for everyone in this flashback. But he does ask to hear out Redell's side of the story, sitting through it enough to get through to Redell's ideas for Astrophage production. Though he doesn't like it because it infringes on his breeding process (petty Grace my beloved) and has massive environmental consequences, he puts it aside to work with Redell because he had to. "Gambling-addicted swindler" aside (Grace's words not mine), the world is ending, you need all hands on deck. He even compliments the guy in that same sentence, "It's rare to find a scientist who is also a good administrator."
Book Grace is not a man easily swayed. It takes time for him to come to terms with people like Redell and how they function. But breaking that trust, outright or otherwise, and you're on his watch. Lokken hated him because of his research paper, he hated her back for shooting his explanations down, and it took a few months of forced contact for them to stop hissing like feral cats at each other. Hell, after being drafted for the Mary, Grace is an angry and dismissive person to Stratt to the very end.
What do I think this all boils down to? Ryland Grace values his trust in others over everything else. Stratt proved it, then broke it. Lokken slowly grew it overtime. And people like Dimitri, Leclerc, and the OG Hail Mary crew, who earned it outright, never got to see what happened to you without it.
All this being said, I think Grace learning about The Butcher in any sense does have some conflicting feelings. Simon was a killer, he had the highest body count of his brothers in Eden even before Filament Station. You don't get a nickname like that without earning it.
But talking about it clearly brings Simon discomfort. There's a sorrow in his voice, he curls in on himself, and he tries at every opportunity to show his remorse. He had nothing to do with it, he's just the guy who stepped up to blame. Filament Station and all its deaths were never supposed to happen, and when you hear it from Eden's apparently most skilled soldier, maybe it means something.
Besides, a secret like this isn't shared lightly, but Simon spits it out anyway. Like he hates the taste and still thinks Grace deserves to know.
Grace asks questions, tests the line of fragile trust it's already taken them all weeks to build. Why he did it, what it meant to him, if he'd do it again, why he surrendered. And as much as it hurts to say out loud, Simon does it, because Grace hasn't thrown him out of the airlock yet, so maybe there's still hope.
Grace is cold in his tone the next few days, taking time to think it all over. Simon never changes, hoping if he just keeps being who they want him to be, maybe he'll pass whatever test they're stuck in further. It's hardly an act nowadays, anyway. Kindness has dulled the Butcher's blade, and he's simply... himself.
Eventually, Grace comes to his conclusion. He understands Simon, worked out everything he's been told and gets where it all started and ended. He doesn't know if he forgives Simon, but that doesn't matter. Simon shouldn't need a stranger's forgiveness. Besides, 16 years in a jail cell and one wretched trip into a blood ocean sounds like one hell of a sentence already.
And Grace would know what it's like, after all. Not so drastic, sure, but nearly. Maybe if Simon didn't already know about Grace's own murder, he's told. Grace confesses to being a coward, to running away from the Mary and nearly damning his entire home planet to death, just because-
"You wanted to live... That isn't wrong."
"... You still did all that, Simon. And I still ran. You're no less a killer than I am a coward. But tell me honestly, how much of who you are now is a lie?"
"Nothing. Not since..."
"Since before Filament Station, huh?"
"Since I last looked my mom in the eye. Since I had a reason to share the truth."
"... Let me ask you something then, Simon. Would you fight at Filament Station again, if you knew what happens?"
"No."
"And I wouldn't run again. ... Heck, I think I died on Earth. The man they chased down and shot into space isn't the same one sitting here right now. And you were basically dead when we found you. Maybe those versions of us stayed behind."
"... Maybe it's not about who went down there. All that matters is what came out."
"Now you're getting it. Besides, you'll have, if all goes well, the rest of your life to carry that guilt, just like me. Sounds like plenty of penance to me."
@rockinrobin124 got me thinking about Bloodymary ponies and I forgot how fun they are to draw so I got a liiiittleeee carried away :3
Some Bloody Frosting (Cupcakes x Rainbow Factory AU) that started this whole thing
Robin's own pony designs for Bloodymary because they're so enticing
Them as non-pony species, Simon as a Hippogriff and Grace as a Kirin, for shits and gigs honestly
And my own concepts for them as the last of the main pony types, which I think I'm partial to (and not because I designed them lol)
some ramblings below bc i can never stfu- /lh
Wanted to give every iteration of them as ponies a different color scheme, even if some things like hair persevere.
Simon is green for the Tree and (my headcanon) Eden's preference for Earth ponies, and Ryland "You know I'm a sucker for the fog" Grace as a pegasus would absolutely have a foggy coat color. Even better, it unintentionally makes him a knockoff of the Awoken guy, it's all aligned
-----
These designs are just so pretty, very fitting for them :] Also red magic Grace because Astrophage idk jhdfvbk
-----
While the ponies got their own respective color schemes, I wanted the non-pony versions to reflect their canon environments! Simon gets a blood-moon red coat and Iron Lung fins/hair (the metal, making him look older but I liked it) and eyes (the green of the coordinates). And Grace gets Adrian (the planet) colors with Adrian (the theorized Eridian) eyes.
Also, since all known Kirins in canon MLP are female, subtly trans Grace!!! :D
-- (this one's all lore be prepared) --
Something about Simon being born as a unicorn, the most delicate yet powerful of the pony types, and being absolutely tarnished by living in Eden. His light coat stained in soot and blood, wearing a hood and cowl to hide his horn and fragile unicorn stature, fighting for rations to bulk up and appear more like the pony type "the Tree intended all to be," earth. His mother, an earth pony herself, is so proud of her boy, secretly helping him hone his magic and trying to break Eden's teachings so he isn't ashamed of his own ability. He doesn't even get to earn his cutie mark, knowing it would further brand him as other.
But his magic is what sets off the bomb at Filament Station, despite his brothers saying nopony was in there. Simon surrenders in tears, showing every ounce of remorse he can muster, but it's not enough. He's imprisoned, with an old magic suppressor locked around his horn. His temper makes him extra dangerous, and eventually, they trap him in solitude, horn never unlocked.
He's thrown into the Iron Lung without any magic to defend himself. It sure would be useful, given the SM-13's poor construction - he tries overpowering the suppressor to use the camera with no luck, and the tape obviously isn't very helpful. He finds the seedling and feels a calling to grow it, knowing the spell without ever having practiced it, but he knows it's safe in the pendant. He finds a way to wrap it around his horn, under the suppressor, where he can just barely feel it with his magic. It guides him, makes him strong.
And when he's bashed around, Simon loses his horn just before his arm, snapped right at the bottom ring of the suppressor. The blood seeps in, aches in his back and ears and teeth, turning him into the Eel's monstrous royalty, a bat pony alicorn. His magic - with a snapped horn, missing arm, blood mutations, and overwhelming urge to survive - becomes sparky, explosive. He dares the Eel to come get him, the Butcher, while his magic lets out one final blast.
A blast... in the form of the growth spell.
Then there's Grace. An earth pony who was always underestimated but born to unicorn and pegasus parents. He's got incredible intelligence, and a better intuition with biology and magic than most earth ponies. He's subtly disregarded in his field, despite proving over and over that he doesn't need magic. It all boils over at the infamous conference, where prejudice is given an excuse to remove him permanently.
Stratt, a unicorn, is willing to take any bright mind for the Astrophage crisis. This random earth pony teacher seems to have made the biggest impression in the scientific community, so she'll take a decent guinea pig. But Grace keeps proving himself again and again, and she slowly starts to see him less like a scientist, and more as a suitable right hoof.
Book Stratt has strict guidelines for Mary's astronauts, and I think that'd apply here especially. Unicorns and pegasi only, prioritizing the multitasking capabilities of the unicorns and ease of movement for the pegasi. Magic makes the coma gene harder to develop, but it all works out. Unicorns Yao and DuBois and pegasus Ilyukhina, Mary's main crew all set.
Until the explosion. Until it's nine days from launch. Until there isn't a single other reliable candidate... than Grace. Earth pony, coma-resistant, leading Astrophage scientist Grace.
Grace, who doesn't want to die. Grace, an Earth pony, who can run like hell. Grace, half unicorn himself, able to outsmart the unicorn guards' magic grasps. But ultimately, it's Grace, not fast enough to outrun the skies, who is pony kind's last hope.
Who wakes up on the Mary to it fully suited for magic he doesn't have. Who has to fight to do what he needs, marvels at Rocky's digits and their capability. Who pushes through because he has to and comes out alive and well despite everything. Grace, who was never supposed to survive, saving the Sun and running to Erid.
Grace, who left a brother behind.
Colt, his earth pony twin, who only ever wanted to touch the skies like their pegasus parent. Who sucked all the color from his twin and had the flashy coat and personality to land a stunt life, who chased thrill and height and explosions. Colt, who's career ended by him falling to the very Earth he's been trapped on all his life.
Colt, who looks up at the stars every night, and the brother who flew so much higher than he ever could.
These arent thought out versions of an au and I changed them to match rainbow/pinkie so they're not my usual pony designs and also i didnt have a lot of time on my hands..... BUT...... Idk you gave me ideas that I hadn't originally thought of
UHHGGU. UGHGUGUH. SPEECHLESS. CHERISH. THE THEM. THEY'RE BEAUTIFUL !!!!! 🥹 (yes they're killing people here but I DON'T CARE IT'S BLOODY FROSTING TIME :D)
