It was obvious that this was the Stefan that Scott had been talking about. The way he mentioned Scott as if he was a good friend. Stiles’ kind of admired that, he thought everyone should treat is best friend with that respect, but he was still curious; weary. “Yeah Scott McCall.” Stiles murmured unnecessarily.
“That’s me,” He shrugged a little and firmly shook the new guys’ hand, “So uh, you got a class to go to? I should probably be getting to English.”
Not that he would do anything in English anyway.
He was pretty sure Stiles already knew he didn’t need to specify which Scott they were talking about, so he resisted the urge to comment on that. The last thing Stefan needed was to alienate Scott’s best friend when he was still working in on getting the pack’s trust. It was hard enough with the species difference, let alone without insulting people Scott cared about.
“ I’m not technically enrolled. I’m just hanging around to keep an eye on everyone. I wouldn’t put it past anything to cause problems during school. ” Vampires didn’t really need school, anyway. He’d already been to Harvard. “ I don’t want to keep you, if you have something important to do. ”
Stiles was a smart guy, very intuitive and had been around the supernatural long enough now to know that this guy was part of that world. He just couldn’t sense which part. It was times like these he wished he could smell Stefan’s scent rather than just his cologne.
“Keep an eye on everyone?” Now he was intrigued, partly because he knew his intuition was right. “It’s not like I haven’t skipped English before.” He laughed and continued, “So how do you actually know Scott?”

“Caroline?” Stiles asked as he walked towards the blonde figure. Stiles didn’t know many people in this new town, but he had once been introduced to Caroline at a party, and right now, she was the only one at this party that he knew.
Caroline was getting a drink while she heared a familiar voice. She was introduced to him at a party but searching further, Caroline also had found out that their parents were friends too. “Oh hey Stiles.” She smiled
Stiles smiled at the familiar voice among the sea of people he had never met. He walked over to her, feeling more at home now. “How have you been?” He asked her with a smile as he took a sip of the drink in his hand.
“It had been a long road to take where I am now but you can say I am okay. How about you?” Caroline smiled. She didn’t really wanted to talk with all these people around but still she was interested to talk with him. “And you? I know our parents were friends. I got his flowers for her funeral.” She swallowed
“I’m glad you came out the other end then Care.” Stiles smiled, he hadn’t called her that before but he had heard others use that nickname so he thought he would give it a try; he liked it. “I could be better, I just need a break from my normal scene to be honest.” Stiles had to leave Beacon hills for a while, too many memories, “I am so sorry to hear about your mother. I know my dad was good friends with her and the Mystic Falls police department. Did you um, wanna go somewhere a little quieter to talk.” He didn’t like having to semi-shout to talk to Caroline.

“You’re back?” Stiles remarked and instantly wrapped Liam in a brotherly hug.
“Yeah, I’m back.” He mumbled while wrapping his arms around the human and bringing him into a tight but yet light embrace.
“Awww we have missed you around here kid.” Stiles smiled and released him from the embrace, “How’s life been for you?”
Stiles wasn’t afraid to tell Lydia, he was afraid to disappoint her. He had lost Scott for he didn’t know how long, he wasn’t prepared to lose Lydia too. He wanted to tell her, he really did but he was struggling to muster up a reply to her, so for a while he sat there with his mouth open and eyes clearly struggling to make words while she looked at him. “I uh,” he sighed and tried to gather his thoughts, “You know how we suspected that Donovan was a Chimera but we never found him…”
God this was hard.
Lydia could tell from the sheer moment that she asked that Stiles was struggling with getting exactly what he wanted to say out. With a small smile all the banshee could offer up was a reassuring head nod and her palm against the back of his hand, if this would ease his struggle or make it worse was another story but it was worth a try. She was more than aware of his feelings towards her, however strong or not strong they might be now. “Yeah, I know about that bit…”
Stiles’ looked to Lydia to calm his thoughts, she had always had that affect. When things were hard, he looked to Lydia and it brought him back to reality. She was one of the only sure things in his life of the supernatural and unbelievable. Right now he needed her, because he wasn’t sure that he had anyone else. “Well, a few nights ago, I was-I was at the library alone. I was just about to leave when Donovan attacked me, he um, he threatened my dad, he’s the only family I have left Lydia.” Stiles knew he would have to continue but it was so hard.

“I’ll help you when we get back,” He offered, they just needed a break, he couldn’t count how many hours they had been sitting in this room for. “Great, let’s get moving before we get caught then.” He replied with a wink.
Things hadn’t gone well with Scott, not at all. So many thoughts had been running through Stiles’ mind. Thinking about what would have happened if he had of told Scott first. Thinking about how else he could have handled it. Handled it without hurting Donovan…without killing a man. Wondering how Scott would have acted; because everyone always wanted to be like Scott.
He had been so preoccupied in this thoughts that he hadn’t noticed the dreary day turn into a rainy night. Not that it mattered, there was no-one he could help now, no-one he was allowed to help. The pack wasn’t just something to Stiles, it was everything, and he was pretty sure he had just lost his everything. Which was why he was slightly shocked when he heard a rattle on the front door.
He was nearly to the door when it burst open and he saw Lydia, soaking wet and clearly worried about him.
“What happened with who?” He stalled.
"Oh, I don’t know. Isaac Newton, after he discovered the generalized binomial theorem?”
A sarcastic roll of her eyes accompanies the words. Stiles knows PRECISELY what she’s talking about, and no amount of playing dumb will convince her otherwise. She takes three steps towards him, ignoring the large drops of water steadily splashing across his floor. The cool air quickly turns frigid, forcing Lydia to fold her arms across her chest for a brief respite from the bone-chilling cold of her soaked clothes, but she pays it no mind.
Stiles. She’s focused on STILES.
“You know who, Stiles. What happened with Scott? WHAT’S going on?”
She softens, head tilting to the side and eyes filling with concern. This time, when she takes a step towards him, it’s out of WORRY - not frustration.
“Are you okay?”
“Well after that he went on to...”
Stiles began and then realised that this was not the time to counter Lydia’s witty sarcasm with his own. This was serious; life and death - quite literally. Stiles watched as she moved closer, she was soaked from the weather outside and he knew he should get something to keep her warm but he also knew she wouldn’t let him leave without answering her.
“Scott. Well Scott may have kicked me out of the pack.”
His mumbles were muffled by the hand that brushed his lips as the anxiety of what he had done hit him again. Upon her question he looked into her eyes, so familiar and soft and in that moment he just unwound.
He collapsed into her, arms snaking around her cool, wet body, “Lydia.” He managed to choke out as the tears approached.

psychoticxsarcasm:
Yeah this was the guy. Stiles knew it, Scott wasn’t the best at describing people but Stiles’ intuition made up for it. Tall, muscular and looking as if he was here for a reason other than learning school subjects, or pretending to learn them. Stiles could tell by the way they were analyzing each other that they both had missing information on each other. “I’ve heard about you from a friend.” He replied, taking a single step in his direction.
“My name is Stiles.” He said as he extended his hand to the new guy.
A friend? He was right, then. It had to be one of Scott’s friends, because Stefan hadn’t talked to anyone that wasn’t in the pack. It wasn’t necessarily that he was tired of teenagers, but he had come here with a focal point. The pack was that focal point, even the less wolfy aspects. “ Ah, a friend. You must mean Scott. ” He knew he was right, but the human probably wasn’t a mind reader. Best to actually say what he was thinking.
“ Stiles. Right. Scott mentioned you. ” He paused for a moment before lightly taking the human’s hand, shaking briefly before pulling his arm back. “ Nice to meet you. ”
It was obvious that this was the Stefan that Scott had been talking about. The way he mentioned Scott as if he was a good friend. Stiles’ kind of admired that, he thought everyone should treat is best friend with that respect, but he was still curious; weary. “Yeah Scott McCall.” Stiles murmured unnecessarily.

psychoticxsarcasm liked the season five thing.
Chemosignals. Derek learned to read them with the course of the years, similar to the flow of a river, soaking him with wisdom, sensitivity and emphaty. That’s how he noticed that Stiles smelled like something worse than anxiety. Fear, guilt, tears…just an overwhelming mass of nerves and sadness that collapsed right into the predator’s face like some kind of bomb. “…what’s wrong with you?”
Stiles felt bad, worse than bad really, he felt defeated. The worst thing was that his actions, they were the cause of it all. He had tried so hard not to be a monster, to not be like the rest of his pack, to remain human; normal. But he had failed, horribly. “Derek, I’ve done something horrible beyond words.”
|CLOSED|
Stiles knew that he would be hit with some kind of comeback by the Banshee, it was in their nature to banter. “Lydia, the whole world is falling apart, right now, we need you too.” He announced to her probably louder than he should have in a hallway filled of innocents. Then her name hit him, like a bullet; Allison. “You, you still visit her too?” He mumbled much quieter and more somber.
Lydia held onto her books by her chest, she didn’t know what to do. If she should run or hide from Stiles, the fact that she brought up Allison, it was a spear through her heart. “She was my best friend. I lost my best friend Stiles. Of course I still visit her.” She spoke softly, her stomach churned as she listened to the quiet boy. “You visit her?”
Stiles knew as soon as he had mentioned Allison that it wasn’t a good idea; the look on Lydia’s face and the lump in Stiles’ throat were symbols of that. “I’m sorry Lyds, I miss her too, sometimes I just refuse to believe it, you know. Because there is all this supernatural, I hold that stupid hope that like these people seem to, she will just come back from the dead.” Stiles murmured, he knew how stupid it must sound, “I do visit her, she helps me, brings me back to earth you know, let’s me know that at least some things in this life are real; even though it kills me every time.”
“I know you are buddy, I think he’s a little upset with himself too. Something has changed, you can feel it can’t you?”
“Yeah, I can feel it. I can definitely feel the change in everyone in the pack including myself.”
“Yeah, I think we all can, Scott’s having a hard time at the moment and we are all relying on him to lead us; it’s not really his fault.”
