Lydia didn’t want to put him out, make him drive her back home in nothing but her pyjama’s. Her bare feet were tinged blue due to the cold wind nipping away at them but she had work to do. Staying warm would have to wait. “Isaac is very close to Scott, I’m sure you’ll at least meet him. I’ll be fine, my car is only around the corner.”

Allison was sure she wouldn’t find the situation as bad if it hadn’t been for her family, she knew that Scott had benefited from the bite but all she could think about was the possibility of her parents coming after her. “I don’t want you to get hurt because of me.” She said quietly, wrapping her arms around Lydia in response. “I don’t want them to hurt any of you.”

Lydia vowed to herself that she’d never let Allison slip out of her fingers, a best friend forever. And this would not change a single thing. “I won’t. I can protect myself and you.” She held onto her best friend, rocking her slightly as she threaded her fingers through brunette tresses. It wasn’t like Lydia to be mean to a friend in need, she would be comforting. “They won’t.”

“Right, of course.” Allison nodded, biting her lip, she didn’t know how to say any of this. She knew for a fact that her friend would support her, that she wouldn’t turn on her the way her parents had. “I umm, I got bitten. I don’t know by who, but they bit me and I thought I could hide it but they know and they don’t, they told me that if I wasn’t going to go by the code then they would one day have to hunt me too.”

Lydia didn’t know how to comprehend the fact that her best friend was bitten. She had gone through a transition no Argent wants to live through. “Woah.” Was all she could say before she wrapped her arms around the brunette, holding her close. “I’ll keep you safe, Allison. I won’t let them hurt you. We should tell Scott, he can keep you safe.”

Following Lydia into her room, she set her bag down before sitting on the edge of her bed. She was quiet for a few moments, chewing on her thumb nail. “There’s no fixing this. Not unless my parents change their mind on everything.” Allison let out a sigh before laying back. “You know how this town is beyond weird, right?”

The banshee could see that her best friend was holding onto something. That was weighing her down like bricks on her heart. “Fix what Allison? You need to be more descriptive if you need my help keeping you safe.” She wanted to help, but she needed all the facts. “Of course, I was bitten and now I am a damn banshee, we have werewolf friends and your family are hunters. Weird doesn’t begin to cover it.”

“Thank you.” Allison replied quietly, adjusting her bag on her shoulder as she stepped inside, following Lydia upstairs. “It won’t be for too long. I promise. I just need to figure a few things out.” She explained with a shrug. The whole situation sucked. It was something she probably should have expected and prepared for but she had been hopeful that it wouldn’t turn out this way. “Um, my parents found out something and it just, they’re not exactly happy about it.”

Closing the door behind her best friend as she moved to sit on her large king sized bed, Lydia propped herself up by the pillows as she softened her face, listening to her best friends problem. “It’s fine, Allison. You never have to explain yourself.” She placed a hand on the brunette’s back gently. “What is it, Ally? Is there anything I can help you with?”

“I hate to ask this but could I stay with you for a few days?” Allison asks, hands in her pockets as she rocks on her feet slightly. “It won’t be long, I promise.” She explains, not going into too much detail. Her parents had found out she’d been bitten and had told her to run, run before Gerard found out. She hadn’t known where else to go. ( @screamiiisms)

“Of course, there is no reason as to why I wouldn’t let you stay here, Ally.” Lydia let her best friend through the front door, shutting it quickly behind her as she made her way up the stairs to her bedroom. “I don’t care how long you have to stay here, you’re welcome to live here forever if you have to.” With a weak smile she brought Allison into her bedroom and shut the door. “What happened?”

“Oh, I was kidding.  This is very sweet.  Thank you Lydia,” she said, taking the meal and smelling it before humming at how good it would be.  Her happiness slipped when she saw the way Lydia was looking, her brow quirking before her smile dropped at her words.  “He told me he was going to the library after lacrosse practice and would be home by dinner.  He’s not answering his phone?”

“Of course, I know it’s tricky for you to get a proper break to eat dinner. It’s extra for you now.” She chuckled before leaning over the counter. Sighing she shook her head, she didn’t know how else to get Scott’s attention. “Maybe if you were to try and contact him he would check his phone. I can’t reach him in any way.”

“ Sheesh. Okay. Lydia Martin. Got it. “He makes a mental note to remember that name somehow before he’s pullis head back in and settling into his seat. Staring up the car again to ready himself for the drive. “ What? Oh. Yeah. I’m Isaac’s older brother? You know him? “ He manages another smile then. “ Still not one the last time I checked but its not a full moon yet, so who knows. “

“Don’t forget it.” She watched as he got back into his car, ready to take off so Lydia could find that body she was out here to find in the first place, before mentioning Isaac threw him off. “Yeah, I’m friends with him, Scott and Stiles. Allison is was my best friend.” It still pained her to say was, to her, Ally was still alive in her heart. “I go to school with him.”

Melissa noticed Lydia the moment she walked in, her bright red hair impossible to miss.  When she made her way over to her desk, she stood and offered a small smile.  “You know, when the boys visit, they at least bring me dinner,” she joked.  “Everything okay?”

Quickly, the banshee grabbed the packed dinner she had made alongside Stiles and handed it over to Melissa. “Stiles said, you’d say that. It just needs to be heated up.” With a weak smile, Lydia leaned over the counter. “I’m trying to find Scott, there are new hunters coming into town. I can’t seem to find him.”

Not the popular mean girl, no, he saw the brains, the struggle. He saw every single part of the Martin girl like it was the only thing that gave him LIFE. “I’ve got you, I don’t need any other best friends, I’m happy with what I have. “Lydia Martin. Trust me, if I went missing people would realise.” She knew that the entire pack would look for her if she ended up being missing after a day. She knew Stiles alone would be running around the entire country to find her body, one of the greatest things about him. “Isaac? You’re the older brother? Well, you really better not become a serial killer now.”

As much as Tyla agreed wholeheartedly with Lydia about Stefan, the truth laid in the statement…they needed durability…something dangerous, something more terrifying than a basic vampire, which is what brought Lydia straight to Tyla, no beating around the bush. The brunette should feel more bothered by it, but she couldn’t seem to muster up the feeling–having already expected as much. “Who you go to is how you want this to end Lyd’s.” She explained, licking her lips, “Alaric will be less dirty….you coming to me will end in blood.” She needed to clarify it, though Tyla held no issue with destroying all that threatened her friends, she wasn’t sure if Lydia wanted that on her conscious. “We both know I don’t have a problem with getting my hands dirty.” She shrugged on her jacket, dark eyes roaming the bar area before gesturing toward the door, “We shouldn’t discuss this here–”

Lydia’s hand gripped the wooden counter top, knuckles going white as she listened to Tyla, she was right. She’d end the fight in blood. That’s what was needed, fire power, a strength that no human could muster up. “I need blood to be spilled, too many have suffered, if we don’t end them. They’ll kill me, I’ve hidden so many of the pack already, I need to save this town too. It’s partially my home as well and you more than anyone would know that.” Lydia stood striaght, pressing down her skirt pleats as she watched the gesture towards the door, following the direction and beginning to leave. “This is going to end with people dead, I don’t want it to be any of us, only the hunters. We need weapons and that is where Alaric comes in. I know he will fight clean, maybe we need that as well.”

Tyla ran her tongue across her lips before swallowing back the harsh liquid before fully turning towards Lydia, her chest heaving. She dropped the cash on the wood top and stood, looking at the red head with an arched brow, “I’m trying to be…” She shrugged as dark maple hues followed the girl’s backstep, brows drawing together, not in confusion of her statement, but confusion of the person she’d come to, “And you came to me first? Imagine Stefan would have been the go to for that.” Her comment was dry, annoyed but not at Lydia, “Do you know what it is? Or is it just a feeling at the moment?” this was serious Ty….be nice…She rolled her shoulders as she pushed the reminder to the back of her mind—

Her mom had been a part of this town, Lydia needed to try and save this town from the hunters that had caught wiff of everyone else of the supernatural that Lydia had come into contact with. It wasn’t just her pack anymore, it was about to be a whole town. A large part of Lydia wanted this to be social, to catch up with Ty, drop money on the bar and drink sorows away, but that wasn’t able to be done. Maybe when it was all over. “He doesn’t have fire power, he’s a whimp unless anyone is trying to hurt Elena or Caroline. I’m hoping Alaric and Damon can give us access to more power and weapons, but I need your anger. It’s hunters, Ty. They’re coming here next, they’ve already whiped out so much of Beacon Hills. Mystic Falls is their next target. We need to try and save everyone, along with the last people alive from Beacon Hills.”

Nonetheless, he knew when his offered help might not be wanted or needed but one look ahead and at his rearview mirror told him there wouldn’t be any passing cars in a while. “ Can I at least accompany you to your car then? I swear I’m not some serial killer. “

“Yes, why is that so hard to imagine?” Lydia quipped at the stranger, arms crossing over her chest, reserving her strength, preventing herself from a possible confrontation. Lydia took a step backwards, teeth biting her lower lip in pain as she stood straight onto a stray bit of tree bark. “I’ll be fine. That’s exactly something a serial killer would say.” She needed to find the body.

Meredith made a face when Lydia mentioned Tyler wanting her gone.  “Sounds like Tyler needs a kick in the ass,” Meredith stated firmly.  “It might be a Lockwood thing — I knew his uncle when he was Tyler’s age.  All bullheaded too.  Or maybe he’s just used to be the only child and doesn’t know how to share yet.”  She shook her head.  Both scenarios were unacceptable.  It wasn’t Lydia’s fault that she had been plunked down his life — holding it against her was going to get him nowhere.  She had it in mind to get someone to talk to that kid.  Maybe show him some sense.  “I’d forget Tyler for now.  Talk to some of the other teens here.  Matt Donovan is a nice guy.  Bonnie Bennett too.  Caroline Forbes — they’re good people.”

“Or maybe a scream to burst his eardrums.” The banshee whispered, sinking into the couch, thankful that Meredith seemed to be on her side. No one was ever on her side and it made Lydia feel wanted, that someone was willing to help her. “Well he is going to have to learn because I’m not going anywhere, I can’t go home to Beacon Hills, I can’t fit in in Mystic Falls, I have nowhere to go but my room to listen to Evanescence on repeat.” Lydia laughed at herself, sadness filling the typically happy sound in the lounge room. Emerald eyes flickered to the brunette as she played it off with a weak smile. “Matt’s alright, but he’s Tyler’s best friend. The only person who might understand would be Jeremy Gilbert.”
