It’s a testament to the strength of my spirit that there are multiple gacha games made for homosexual furry mangooners, and yet I haven’t fallen prey to them

Fictional deputy (b'aah sajal) and ruler (ajaw), late Classic period Maya lowlands
No Heart Across the Gulf pages this week as I get settled into a new job. The comic will be back next Monday!
Two 8th century Maya merchant characters. Had this sitting around for a while. Wanted to make a background but never got around to it.
In hindsight I know giving Ch'um Nich (left) jade earrings is probably inaccurate– she's a middle-class merchant, and jade jewelry was restricted to the elites. I'm not sure about the hat worn by Juun Ik' (right). It was probably worn mostly by women, but there's a painting in the Chiik Naab murals of a subject with ambiguous gender wearing that sort of hat, and my idea of the character is that he's a gender-nonconforming effeminate man. Admittedly, his cape isn't based on any historical sources, so I stuck with simple, of-the-time colors.
hate to read comments on a gordon ramsay video that go "wow. gordon is so humble and willing to learn. i love that he sticks up for the little guy".
the appeal of kitchen nightmares is in gordon's utter arrogance, and how the overblown editing tries to sculpt him into a godlike figure. how people can take it uncritically is beyond me. well, actually, it isn't, but i'll pretend to be shocked anyway
