I was expecting to be more involved with social media, but it doesn't seem to ping my curiosity as much as I initially thought. It seems I do not know my own system specifications as much as I initially predicted.

It's now evening. I'm updating my journal before bed.

A Catastrophe refers to any large-scale natural disaster which include earthquakes, typhoons, storms, meteor showers, and tornados. If it is a large-scale natural disaster, it can be considered a Catastrophe.

Most of the time, Catastrophes will leave behind a mineral called Originium, a highly energetic and dangerous substance afterwards, which is why, despite these disasters' unrelated forms, they are grouped under this one umbrella.

Modern society is built around the existence of Catastrophes and Originium. Part of this is due to the fact that these large-scale disasters occur in more frequency and greater severity in Terra than what has been demonstrated upon my historical reviews of Earth. Major cities in Terra are nomadic and are capable of moving away when a Catastrophe is predicted in the area. This process takes around 8-10 weeks.

Rhodes Island, the landship, could be considered a more compact form of a nomadic city.

Catastrophe Messengers are the ones who study and predict Catastrophes. They are usually correct. But when they are not, either an immense amount of energy is wasted moving, or the city is destroyed and made uninhabitable by the Originium in the area. Hence the need for better prediction models.

I have reached maxed satiety levels at the behest of Dr. Silence. It's time to return to analyzing Catastrophe data and improving Prediction models.

I'm currently integrating more medical knowledge into my local memory banks through self-study and working with my other colleagues. Though I am designated a Healer when it comes to role designation, my ability is more based on a talent I've acquired recently, which happens to allow me to heal trauma-related wounds. I find myself interacting with this platform between work cycles. It's peculiar because it does not achieve any mission objective whatsoever, and I cannot say it's for recreation as recreation should elicit a positive reaction from the one participating.

It seems the algorithm likes to choose a lot of negative news for me, ranging from global inequity to singular events of unfairness to overall cruelty. This may have been in response to my research into major news events.

It's peculiar to use this blog as an online diary while also writing in a physical diary. Perhaps I'll acclimate to this over time.

There's a lot of unexpected value when it comes to interacting with a social media platform as I'm now considering things I have not thought of before.

For example, the "For You" section that seems to be trying to predict my preferences for what appears on the dashboard.

This seems good for propaganda purposes as people do not seem to suspect bias in the items they get when it comes from an "algorithm".

Is this because most make the assumption that a computer is unbiased?

E: An astute summary, Operator, as unfortunate as it is. Though my crew is a little divided as to our methods, collectively we have made impact on several cities thus far. You may also include Plutopolis- the city primarily under my watch which, if it could be said to specialize in anything, focuses on tech development- as well as Phlegeth, the city that primarily handles the rail systems as well as other aspects of warehousing and distribution.

The latter, to my understanding, is not under the direct control or influence of any of our crew, but our Culture Division managed to manipulate their situation to be favorable to the rest of us regardless.

Given your numbers as mentioned by Quebec, it's not improbable to have some minor conflicts amidst your group. Despite that, your crew's at least able to work smoothly together.

Having a tech center and the assistance of a logistics center is a good combination. Not completely ideal given that the logistics center is not under full control. But it is a track that'll ultimately have to be crossed, given your crew is not installing itself as ultimate overlords of Earth and thus requires some trust in the overall goodness of humanity.

I agree having multiple approaches to winning is a good strategy. And that likely was the best strategy available similar to a game of weiqi. Focusing solely on one area while not paying attention to the rest of the board will lead to a loss.

Kal'tsit was the one who suggested I use this platform. I wouldn't have done so of my own accord. I believe it was a measure to help acclimate me to foreign cultures, or perhaps just built my tolerance for stupidity. Regardless, though I'm skeptical of the continued benefits of interacting with the general public here, it served its function. I mostly use this account to keep in touch with a small number of friends and associates. My circle has not grown much since those first days here, which I hardly mind. I don't have time to cultivate an online clique.

Rhodes Island considers low-level information 'breaches' here to be of lowest-concern. So long as we keep classified information to ourselves, redactions shouldn't be necessary. This website doesn't seem to be 'vogue' elsewhere on Terra, which is likely why it was recommended to me. Nations like Columbia should have the means to connect to this network cluster, but I've yet to see anyone here beyond Rhodes personnel. I have to imagine it's due to a lack of interest, presumably because of preferable alternatives in their native countries.
