I also felt so bad for the Entity, I think it really is from how incredible Navarette's performance is. I swear sometimes her mannerisms while possessed (especially during the climax of the movie) almost came across as a confused child
Her frustration and confusion as the entity is really really palpable at times. To me the entity (or whatever it is) reads like a supernatural/magical creature that is bound by the wish that invokes it. She has to love Bear but he doesn't have to love her. And because the entity seems somewhat aware and fearful of that fact, but also lacks the necessary understanding of human(?) conventions to understand why (at least some of) her actions are unsettling him, it's hard for me not to feel bad for her on some level. Like her digging up the cat and making a memorial -- I'm paraphrasing, but she walks in to see a horrified Bear, and is surprised to see he's upset. "Oh, you were supposed to like it. It's a memorial!". Like I just did this very touching thing for you, why are you upset? Bear responds that it's "fucked" and this only confuses her more "fucked as in... bad?" and like you said, its almost... childlike? naive? her lack of understanding here, and the consequent frustration it brings her. And I agree, Navarette's incredible performance 100% brings to life this idea of real Nikki and not Nikki and the blur of both all within one body.
Iâd say the Entity works like a servitor: the wish creates its purpose and it follows out the wish to the best of its abilities. The Wish is the Entityâs entire being. The Wish and the Entity are one and the same, the Entity is just like, the wish taking Nikkiâs skin and wearing it, like the fucking fnaf Mimic but given proper instructions to âlove Bear more than anyone else in the worldâ

Poppy Playtime Chapter 5 is a letdown imo. It's 90% pointless tasks and 10% story. That's a problem the series has always faced, but it's disappointing for the last chapter.
Dunno if this will come as a relief, but this isnât the last chapter like theyâd said before. Theyâre definitely coming out with a 6th chapter now, and chapter 5 was just to drag out the story more :////
MOB has started sticking to a formula and itâs become abundantly clear: a chase scene, puzzles + platforming, some character cutscenes, then back to puzzles + exploring, more puzzles + platforming, then Big Villain dramatic ending cutscene + âboss fightâ.
What was the purpose of the Inside-Outimals? Why do they even need to exist? Why not just give us the Nightmare Critters instead?? Then we can actually have some lore on them in-game, instead of the random Baba Chops boss we got last chapter that felt like it came out of the blue.
We got 3 characters I absolutely LOVED: Giblet, Chum Chompkins, and Lily Lovebraids, and all of them were underutilized. We saw Giblet and Chum like 2-3 times for each, and all of Lily Lovebraidsâ stuff was just shoved in at the very end. Iâm still confused on how she is/was Miss Gracie. How were they talking together? How was the human Miss Gracieâs corpse in Lilyâs bed?? Did they not use her organs and bones to create Lily?? Why did Miss Gracie get chosen to become a Bigger Bodies experiment? Why would they turn her when she was good at doing her job of brainwashing kids into becoming toys???
Also, why the fuck was the Prototype writing physical notes?? Using a typewriter/computer??? What???? It gives me the funniest image of that bigass Prototype crouching in front of a computer, his needle fingers carefully typing away.
The majority of the chapter were puzzles and platforming and I got so bored watching it. I donât even understand what the plant section was or why it was even there. It just feels like filler material.
The reveal that the orphans are dead was SO underwhelming. Damn okay, guess the player has been traveling to the earthâs core through Playtime Co. for fucking nothing.
Best parts of this chapter were definitely Giblet, Chum Chompkins, Lily Lovebraids, and the brainwashing tapes (because they were SO well done). I liked that we saw the perspective of a recently turned Huggy Wuggy, but I donât understand why we saw it.
A Reddit user one the PPT subreddit brought up such a good point: what did Poppy even DO in this chapter?? The story did not progress at all. I donât know what I expected after I didnât like Chapter 4
I would've been fine with the whole "ohh orphans are dead" thing if chapter made it more impactful. Like, it was said in a couple of lines and that's all??? There's literally NO build up for this line, plus, in my opinion, we should've at least learn about them and some of their personalities to make it more tragic. Honestly, and this is highly debatable, i think they should've added their corpses or remains in the game. Not directly, maybe on the tape? Maybe just make player listen to their screaming of agony??? Idk it feels wrong to me to leave such an impactful moment of the game to a couple of lines....

what was the point of the wrongside outimals getting the commercial this chapter. why not like Lily or Glowby or something. these designs werent even used in gameplay they were literally only in the commercial. what was the point
We couldâve justâŠ..had the Nightmare Critters instead. We couldâve gotten in-game backstory for the Nightmare Critters, and it wouldâve made sense for them to be rejected by families for the same reasons they rejected the Inside-Outimals.
People arenât going to buy the Inside-Outimals. They didnât need to be introduced and they didnât serve any purpose in the story.
