unintentional-nightmares:
The Darkrai muttered something to himself before sighing. āFine. Weāll do another party.ā
Mana glanced over at the two older Pokemon for a confirmation before looking back at Aubrey after seeing them nod. She moved a bit to make it seem like the head was nodding to the question before moving towards them.
āJust be careful with her disguise. She wonāt let anyone try to remove it, even if the sun isnāt out,ā Nocturne warned.
Ā Ā āIt doesnāt have to be a full party. We can just get something to eat and just go shopping for your gift or something.ā He couldnāt help but giggle when she nodded the false head, carefully scooping her up as not to disturb the disguise when she drew closer. Ā Ā āI know. There was actually a while I wanted a Mimikyu on my team so I did a little research.ā Aubrey smiled toward Mana as he held her close to himself.Ā āSo what do you all want to eat?ā
unintentional-nightmares:
āI seriously think that Iām too old for birthday celebrations. I even tried telling that to them, but fine.ā
Icarus giggled a bit before adding, āMelody said something about you being 128 years old, I donāt think youāre that old for birthday parties Papa!ā
The Igglybuff looked surprised to hear how old Nocturne was, while Mana just tilted her disguiseās head to express confusion. āā¦āMimikyuā? (ā¦'Spoilingā?)ā
Ā Ā āEven if you are that old, youāre not too old for birthdays. Youāre never too old to have a day celebrating yourself and having fun.ā Aubrey stuck his tongue out toward Nocturne before laughing to himself and glancing back to the Mimikyu. Ā āJust ask Icarus and Karma. Iāll buy you all the toys and treats you could ever want. Plus Iāll give you all the cuddles. Do you mind if I pick you up?ā A sweet smile claimed his lips as he extended his arms toward her. Truth be told, heād contemplated catching a Mimikyu for years, but was never able to find one. So now was the perfect oppertunity to spend time with one.
unintentional-nightmares:
āOh dear, well I hope he got better.ā He then shrugged. āEh same old same old. Icarus and Karma threw me a surprise birthday party a few weeks ago. And then they surprised me with these two and I adopted them,ā he said gesturing to the two new Pokemon.
āAubrey, meet Iggy and Mana. Iggy, Mana, meet Aubrey. Theyāre a family friend.ā
Iggy waved again and greeted him with a sing-song voice. Mana walked out and extended a claw out from underneath the Pikachu disguise.
Ā Ā āHeās doing fine now. I think he just exaggerated a bit to get me to visit.ā His smile faded as he looked up toward Nocturne wide-eyed. āI missed your birthday?? We have to go out for a while to celebrate! I wonāt take no for an option.ā Ā Ā As quickly as it had gone, Aubreyās smile returned as he looked to the small pokemon. āItās a pleasure to meet you Iggy.ā Aubrey hummed as he reached over to ruffle the top of the Igglybuffās head before kneeling down to shake Ā Manaās hand. āAnd itās a pleasure to meet you too Mana. Arenāt you just the cutest! Iām going to have fun spoiling you two~.ā
@pulchra-melodiam
āAubrey! Aubrey!ā Icarus shouted as he ran over to hug the other. The purple haired child looked up and smiled at them, while Nocturne and Karma walked up to them with an Igglybuff in his arms and a Mimikyu following behind him.
Hey, long time no see! How have you been?ā Nocturne greeted with a wave, while the Igglybuff did the same.
Ā Ā Hearing his name, Aubrey turned just in time to see who had hugged him, a wide smile growing on his lips as he returned the gesture. āIcarus! Itās great to see you again.ā Ā Ā Glancing up, violet eyes blinked in surprise at the new faces, although he greeted them with a wave and a smile all the same. āIāve been alright. My grandfather fell ill, so I was helping to take care of him for a while. What about you? Who are these little cuties?ā
make-it-trouble:
Ā Ā Ā āGuess they still are~ā he joked, jabbing Aubrey in the ribs with an elbow.Ā āYouāre the only guy I know whoās shorterĀ āan me, yāknow?ā He giggled more, burying his face between Aubreyās shoulder and neck, picking up the smaller man to carry him towards the door of his bedroom.Ā
āWhich way is it? To the pool?ā he asked, still in awe of just how fancy the mansion was. It felt like living in a movie, especially with how Aubrey called Fred the workersā superior. He likedĀ the idea of getting to boss people around, but he also knew that bossy slave-drivers were always the first to be thrown under the bus in films.Ā āThatās as maybe, Aubs, but people are still gonna talk. What if a rumour starts about⦠me. What if I end up like some kind of bargaining chip, gettinā kidnapped by Hoennās wacky eco-terrorists? It makes me uncomfortable enough, knowinā that one day I have to tell myĀ bosses.ā
Of course Aubrey had alone time planned⦠and Fred was sure it would go uninterrupted, but knowing that Ted was thereĀ set him on edge⦠like one night heād awake with his hands around his neck. He laughed it off.Ā āThen why did you sound so salty? Youāre spoilt, thatās why,ā he joked.
Ā Ā Though the comment didnāt bother him any, he was used to being the shortest in a room and well versed in responses to the joke, Aubrey playfully stuck his tongue out. āHey, if your only complaint is that there isnāt enough of me, I donāt think itās an issue.ā Ā Ā Being Ā picked up seemed to catch him by surprise as a faint almost squeak escaped him. Aubreyās arms wrapped instinctively around Fredās neck. āThe hallway to the left of the staircase downstairs leads to it, but you donāt have to carry me that far.ā Listening to Fredās worries caused Aubrey to smile. He held those same fears for some time, at first being the small,Ā ādelicateā son to the Zaki family, and now even the heir. A gentle hand placed itself on Fredās cheek as Aubreyās gaze met Fredās to show he meant his words. āPeople talk. Itās what they do, most of the time itās hard, but you have to take it at face value. All of the workers here are trusted by my family and have been working here for years. Youāre perfectly safe here. And when youāre not, remember, I have family and friends that will go to any length to keep me safe and happy. You make me happy, so that protection extends to you.ā Ā Ā He smiled with a small shrug. āI am spoiled and I know it. I wonāt deny that. Itās just kind of a joke we have going on. The resort has always been one of my favorite places and I just want to be able to say I own it. Though...even Kouichi wonāt get it for a long, long time. My grandfather still proudly runs the place, and when he...passes it on, my father will get it and Iāll get the Safari Zones. Knowing that if we stay together youāll get all of this, donāt tell me you wouldnāt want to say you own a resort too.ā
make-it-trouble:
āWhy? Were they big?ā he asked, but quickly found himself unsure of just why he had. HeĀ wasnāt scared of allĀ tall people. Only the ones who might use it to scare him, or hurt him. He pouted, giving Aubrey bashful side-eye.Ā āYou donāt need extra guards. You got me, anā Iām more than enough to chase anyone off. Even Ted! Even⦠even Mr Falsey, if I have to.ā The words sounded a little hollow, an occasional crack in his voice. Perhaps Ted. Certainly any unaffiliated criminals who might come Aubreyās way. But he was still a coward at heart.
Concern wrinkled at Fredās eyebrows as he looked down at Aubrey on his chest, wrapping his arms around him.Ā āM-maybe so⦠I jusā⦠donāt feel comfortable anywhere people might walk in just yet. You got all these servants anā family anā⦠I donāt want no one thinkinā Iām a freak.ā He sniffed sharply, puffing up his chest to disguise the shame he was thinking.Ā āMaybe Iāll just dangle my feet in the water anā you can give me a foot rub?ā
Fred shook his head.Ā āItās okayā¦,ā he sighed.Ā āIn the end, Ted aināt social. Heāll lock himself away somewhere and find some local Bug-types to fry with a magnifyinā glass. Anā Iāll have a word with your brother anā try anā persuade him that you deserve it!ā
Ā Ā Ā He giggled in amusement with a wide smile. āI was a little kid, everyone was big to me. We only kept the guards for a year or two before my dad decided it was unnecessary. And Iām glad to have you now. I couldnāt ask for a better guard.ā Though, truth be told he could generally handle himself, or he had an assortment of others that looked after him, but that didnāt matter right now. Ā Ā Leaning in to place a reassuring peck on Fredās nose, Aubrey opted not to press him further. āThat works for me. Iāll just be happy to spend time with you. I donāt want you to do anything youāre uncomfortable with, though no oneās going to think youāre a freak. Trust me, I could tell you stories about nearly every worker here, and youāre technically their superior while youāre a guest here~.ā Ā Ā Ā āHey, just because heās here doesnāt mean we wonāt get alone time. Iāve had that planned even with him here.ā Aubrey shook his head, amused grin still playing on his lips. āYou donāt need to. Iām already inheriting the Safari Zones which is enough. I need to leave him something. Weāll still be able to visit as we please and thatās whatās important.ā Ā Ā Ā
stewardoftheking:
-Archer waved his hand somewhat dismissively. Ā His tone was clipped, though his expression betrayed little.-
Work is⦠taking longer than anticipated, but such is the oft volatile nature of business, non? Ā It affords me a lengthier stay in this lovely city, though, so itās not allĀ bad, I suppose. Ā Itās not often my work permits me a layover in such resplendent beauty. Ā I think I can suffer a bit more if necessary.
But what about you, hm?  How are things at your little cafe?  Still proceeding⦠smoothly, I trust?  No more⦠ah, nosy customers, mm?
Ā He gave a light shrug in response, understanding fully how business could hold someone longer than anticipated. Mr. and Mrs. Zaki were often good proof of that when Aubrey was younger. Ā Ā āBeing able to remain in beautiful cities can be enjoyable, so long as you donāt have anyone waiting for you back home. And so long as you actually have the time to enjoy the city of course. If you arenāt busy now we could take in the sights together. Iāve at least always found the lights more beautiful with company.ā
Ā Ā āMe? The cafe is going well. Iāve had one other nosy customer, but I can forgive him considering heās my father and all. Other than that, itās been fairly quiet for me.ā
make-it-trouble:
At first, Fred lent away from the kiss, as if it were his mother coming to kiss him. But then he remembered that it wasnātĀ his mother. Aubreyās lips were much softer and gentler, and he found himself doing the opposite, leaning into him and smiling contentedly, shrugging his shoulders in a cosy motion. He was partially reassured, although, as a silver lining, he was glad that he could be here to keep an eye one the runty, bespectacled interloper. Smiling back wryly at Aubrey, he shook his head.Ā āThey like everyone. They like him. Itās a pretty low bar. Plus, I wouldnāt want to be on the wrong side of his dad. Have you seenĀ āim? Heās like an Ursaring!ā
The weight of the sword didnāt bother him too much. It was heavier than he thought it would be, of course, but he was stronger than he looked and managed to keep the sword straight as he fought his imaginary foe. He had no idea how bad his form was, clumsily swinging it to and fro, barely missing ornaments around him, but he eventually put it back carefully. Turning pink, he ran his finger down Aubreyās back flirtatiously.Ā āMaybe youĀ donāt require a swimsuit, but I think Iāll jusā sit on the side anā watch you swim. I aināt really ready to⦠uh⦠bare allĀ in public. Back problems, yāknowā¦ā
Ā Ā āFair.ā Aubrey found himself giggling at the recollection of the encounter, and more as Fred went on. āMy family is pretty big as well, so it takes a lot more than being big to scare me. Sometime I should tell you about when my dad had hired human guards along with the pokemon ones you saw outside. I mean...we still have some but not very many.ā As he watched Fred messing around with the sword, he just smiled. Maybe later heād try to give him some pointers, or maybe he could convince his tutor to return and resume their lessons. Ā Ā His head lulled to the side, as he rose a brow, though if Fred wasnāt comfortable with the idea he wouldnāt push.Ā āI wouldnāt exactly call the manorās poolroom public, and there are blinds that can be pulled on the windows, but we can stick to suits if you want. And, we can just chill in the hot tub too.ā Aubrey leaned his head against his boyfriendās chest with a soft sigh.Ā āIām...sorry if this is all a bit much. I know I said it was just going to be us, and to make it up to you, next time youāre free weāll go on a trip, really, Ā just the two of us. My uncle has a resort in Sinnoh we can go to...that my brother doesnāt plan on letting me inherit. The jerk...ā
necroxphagia:
Ā Ā Ā Ā : ā ⣠ā : ā Vincent just looked at Kouichi in disbelief, mostly at the working part before slowly panning towards Aubrey. As if asking them howĀ they put up with such a brother - then again Vincent liked to bother people so consumed with their work that he had to pry them away from it.Ā
Ā Ā āDonāt worry, he uses work as an excuse to try and get out of a lot of things. He likes spending time with people he cares about more than work.ā Aubrey giggled at Virusā expression. āThough bugging him at work is always fun too.ā
cindersandshadows:
āI can find the attention span for it, I am just⦠horribly awful at it. Youāre luckier than I with it if youāre producing anything decent at all.ā It was a slight exaggeration, since her work was passable. Just not good. Sera went quiet momentarily as she held up one of the dresses against herself, trying to work out if it was worth trying on. Probably still the tiniest bit too big for her. Would there even be smaller sizes than that? Oh well. āTrue. The skill not being a necessity makes up for me being the worst at it, I suppose.ā
Maybe one day sheād learn what it was she was doing wrong with sewing. Unlikely, though.
āShe is. But I do have two regular Eevee at my motherās home over in Kalos. Theyāre more pets than anything else, though. They seem rather content to stay as they are.ā Attention returned to her companion, and Sera frowned. Perhaps that was a suggestion she shouldnāt have made.Ā āAh, um⦠Thatās fair. Spectating is perfectly fine as well, still, um⦠still showing support for contests and allā¦ā
Ā Ā Ā āI mean, it isnāt easy, but I can do it. Iām sure with some practice you could improve.ā He gave a small shrug. Aubrey had found he was pretty good at most creative activities, though he often grow bored of the work easily. āSometimes it can be fun to learn with a friend. Iāve at least found I learn things easier with people I like.ā Ā Ā He couldnāt help but smile at the topic, memories flooding into his mind. āIāve known a lot of Eevees to be content to stay that way. Are they your Eevees or family pets?ā A sigh soon passed by his lips as he shook his head. āIām sorry. I just...didnāt leave Contests on good terms so I guess Iām just a little scared. And as much as Iād love to do a partner Contest...I donāt have anyone that would want to.ā
necroxphagia:
Ā Ā Ā Ā : ā ⣠ā : ā Vincent rose a brow. Valentineās day was more important? Oh so then Christmas is more important than someoneās birthday then. He pointed at Kouichiās nose as if accusing him of thinking wrong. He crossed on leg over the other and huffed.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā ā¾ Being almost thirty is more important than some loverās day. Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Lovers can celebrate any day. Births only happen once! Ā ā
Ā Ā Ā āIn your opinion perhaps, and generally I may agree with you, but the last thing I need is to be the focus of a day.ā To be honest he would just prefer another ordinary day. Maybe a meal or something, but nothing all that major.Ā āI have work I should do instead of taking the day off.ā
necroxphagia:Ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā : ā ⣠ā : ā Vincent nodded his head, understanding the situation and the talk between the two brothers. He observed the otherās way of trying to convince the older brother, it was interesting to say the least. However, he tilted his head at the word annoyingly. Why is annoying to remember birthdays? Vincent didnāt like his birthday, but he liked the celebrations. Lots of food.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā ā¾ What is wrong with birthdays? Cake is always good.Ā ā
Ā Ā Their attention was brought back to him when they noticed his message. Aubrey snickered to himself at a playful thought, though he knew it was incorrect. āBecause heās nearly thirty~.ā
Ā Ā Kouichi shook his head with a sigh.Ā āBecause itās a waste to celebrate i my opinion. Considering itās on the same day as Valentineās day, I feel thatās more important to celebrate. My parents always celebrate together, so Aubrey should as well, though he refuses to.ā Well that and the fact it brought back memories of his late ex, but that was unimportant. āI donāt mind the cake, but we can have that whenever.ā
cindersandshadows:
āI would hope so. Ā Whatever their reasons, if itās grown into an event comparable to contests in popularity, being exclusionary doesnāt exactly sound fair.ā Of course, Seraās knowledge of them was still limited. But āappearance-heavy contests with challengesā didnāt strike her as something that should have been limited to only girls.
āIāve tried - that sort of thingās never been my talent. Too fiddly, I think. I never seem to be able to get it right.ā She spoke without looking up, instead picking through a rack opposite to her companionās. Nothing sheād wear still, but a few things continued catching her eye for others. Sheād keep them in mind, maybe return another day and grab them.
āShe - um, Viviās a girl. But I caught her as an Eevee. Out near⦠Geosenge Town, I think thatās the place? Itās been a while since I was in Kalos so some bits of information escape me, butā¦ā Remembrance? That struck her and sent her sentence trailing off into nothing. There was a grave implication there. Or at least seemed to be one. It didnāt feel like something she should pry into, and so instead Sera quietly took the offered dresses, eyeing them up and down.
āI only performed alone for a month or two, but I think I can say with a decent amount of certainty that I prefer having a partner. Regardless of the um, setbacks it can bring. Iād say itās worth a go - entering with someone else, I mean. If you ever dip back into contests and get the chance to do it with another person, Iād urge you to try it.ā
Ā Ā Aubrey was more than tempted to tell her the truth of his being at this point and how he was partially competing in Showcases to prove that guys were just as capable, though he stayed silent on the matter, simply nodding in agreement. Ā Ā He couldnāt help but giggle softly at her difficulty with costume making, having many of the same issues himself. āItās also a little tedious in my opinion. Sometimes I donāt have the attention span for it, though when Iām making a gift for someone Iām usually better.ā Particularly for his friendās smaller pokemon.Ā āAt least you donāt have to do it yourself if you donāt favor it.ā Ā Ā Ā His head leaned slightly to the side. āIs she your only Eevelution? And yes, I believe thatās where theyāre found, despite not having been in Kalos for more than a year, I like to think I know my way around pretty well.ā At the mention of returning to Contests, he tensed up, staring at the ground.Ā āI...Iām not sure Iāll be returning anytime soon and I...u-um...donāt exactly have anyone to partner up with anyway. ā He rubbed the back of his neck. āSpectating is good enough for me right Ā now.ā
make-it-trouble:
Listening to Aubreyās plea, Fredās face was akin to disappointment, but deep down he was concerned. He rubbed the back of his neck uncomfortably, the loose hairs crumpling up to add to his plane-nap bed-head. He sighed.Ā āIf you know allāa that, then why do you still⦠likeĀ him? WhatĀ has he said about me? Iāll bet itās all lies!ā His chest puffed up in defence, but deflated as Aubrey held his arm. Another sigh. Imperceptible tremors were the only clue to how stressed Fred was feeling.Ā āI donāt want you being his next experiment, Aubrey⦠I donāt get how he thinks, but he likes hurting things for fun, so why not you?āĀ
Silence hung in the air after Aubreyās question. Fred held his breath, teeth clenched together. Truth be told, he wasnāt sure of the answer. The memories of them being very small together, playing in the sun as it set after school. Ted had been much slower than he was, needing help as he ran out of breath and passed out. It was fun. It was fun when Ted showed him how to crack into someoneās wifi and when they played old video games together. But that seemed like a different person. He wasnāt sure he could look into those blue eyes and not see the person Ted had grown up to be, rather than who he used to be, and couldĀ be. He shook his head with a huff, āI guessā¦ā and followed him in, offering the servant a hand gruffly.
He gaped at Aubreyās room, in awe of how uncluttered it was. He took his time to walk around the room, running his greasy fingers over all the trinkets and toys, often putting them back in the wrong places. He quickly replaced a notebook heād picked up when Aubrey told him not to look.Ā āSure. Itās okay, I canāt read anyway,ā he joked, a silly grin plastered on his face. He picked up a sword, play-fighting his shadow, his mood obviously improved.Ā āSo what have you got planned for me, mālord?ā
Ā Ā He leaned up to kiss Fredās cheek, giving his arm a reassuring squeeze. āBecause I know his type. Iāve already seen his tricks and I wonāt fall for them. On top of that, if I do miss something, my family wonāt. And donāt worry, I didnāt believe anything heād said anyway. I trust you with my whole heart and wonāt let anything change that.ā A playful smile tugged at his lips. āPlus, something he doesnāt know, while on a trip with my dad, I met his parents, and they seem to like me. Iām not opposed to using that to my advantage.ā
Ā Ā Aubrey watched as his boyfriend looked around the room. It didnāt bother him if things werenāt placed back exactly as they had been, he was more interested in seeing that Fred had perked back up. He giggled at the little joke, though once heād gone through the notebooks, maybe heād let Fred read a little of his old writings. Of course all of the swords and knives displayed were real, some heavier than they appeared, and all perfectly sharpened, the heir had been trained to handle them after all. Another giggle escaped him as he sat on the edge of the bed. āWell, today at least weāre just going to stick around the manor, let you get used to it and relax from your trip, and maybe...the two of us hit the pool, swimsuits not required.ā
cindersandshadows:
āWell thatās⦠not great.ā She frowned as she gave her answer. The point of a girls-only version of contests was lost on Sera. There probably was one - usually for that sort of thing there was a reason, sometimes good and sometimes not. But already she found showcases losing some of the appeal they could have potentially had to her. Kind of a shame.
āI know how that is. The first time I tried a contest it was alone, and um - I didnāt exactly know what I was doing with the costume. A bit of helpās always nice when you can find it.ā Ah yes, that first costume. A total disaster. Far too baggy on such a weedy girl. Not how sheād intended it to look, not at all. Thankfully the performance itself had made up for the lookĀ āAstraā had sported in her debut.
Her eyes were on the move, taking in the town around her as quickly as she could manage, before settling on where sheād been led. Not a place sheād been before. Sera glanced over the clothes, and mentally mused about how theyād suit some of her friends far better than her.Ā āAh, mhm. Iāve had Vivi with me since I was wandering around Kalos a few years ago. And shiny Eevee are darling as they are, in my opinion. Iāve heard endless praise sung for shiny Sylveon though. Oh and - um, yes. Not much reason not to practice together when weāre all living in the same place, you know? Makes them easier to schedule⦠when we can get someone to wake up in time for them, anyway.ā
Ā Ā āIām glad to know Iām not the only one that thinks so. Maybe one day theyāll allow guys to participate as well.ā Even if there already was one unbeknownst to them. In a way, Aubreyās participating at all was a way for him to show that men were just as capable, even if he was a...somewhat special case. Ā Ā He couldnāt help but giggle at the mention of a possible costume issue at her first performance. Fortunately heād never had that issue, his costumes being tailor made from the beginning, but Ā it didnāt mean he didnāt understand her plight. āItās always fortunate to have someone close to you that can tailor clothes. Have you ever tried to learn yourself?ā Ā Ā Ā Every so often as Aubrey looked through the dresses, heād glance back to Sera, more interested in finding something for her than himself, even if she claimed to already have a costume. āDd you catch him as an Eevee, or was he already evolved? Oh! And remind me to introduce you to Aimi once we leave. My cousin adored Eevees, so heās kind of a remembrance to her, another reason Iām not sure if I want to evolve him.ā Aubrey picked a few dresses from the racks and offered them to her to try on, laughing at the mention of her struggles to get her partners to cooperate. āSee, I always performed alone, though I think it would have been fun to have someone to perform with.ā
make-it-trouble:
Of course he would crawl back, like a bad smell. Fred gave the human Ekans one last look, causing Ted to disappear again with a squeak. Had he always been this cowardly? Fred let a puff of hot air out of his nostrils, following Aubrey through the grand house and its grounds. It was like being on an alien planet, or a tourist attraction. To think heĀ would be staying here. He quickly forgot those thought, as the serpent in the room ate away at his thoughts.Ā
āAubrey⦠if you knewĀ about me anā Ted⦠whyĀ did you invite him? Whatās he told you about me? Wait⦠how much do you know about him? He aināt hurt you, has he?ā The questions were thick on his lips, and he quickly felt scared again of that skinny little man in the car. Aubrey may well have thought that Fred was the bad one now, and Ted the victim. Everything seemed so close to going back to the way it was before, with the snake tied tight around his neck.
By the point Aubrey invited him to let his pokemon loose, he was too scared to do so, offering just a polite nod to Aubrey, his body having physically shrunken. His arms were no longer wrapped around him, and his shoulders were up around his ears, but everything else was down, his head hung low, his arms pulled into his body. He almost didnāt realise when theyād gotten to Aubreyās room.Ā āSure⦠I mean, I can hardly comment when my room is so messy.ā Besides⦠what wereĀ the things Aubrey liked⦠dogs, cosplay, contests⦠him, Fred thought with a little boost in confidence. At least they could be alone here.
Ā Clearly heād have his work cut out for him trying to get these two on decent terms, but at least Fred seemed willing to be civil while Aubrey was around. Now heād just have to be sure he was always by at least one of them. Looking over at Fred, it was weird for Aubrey to think how big this place must feel to him, although having grown up in this place and for many years hardly left itās walls, to him it felt tiny.
Ā Ā Aubrey offered a small smile, taking hold of Fredās arm himself and giving it a reassuring squeeze. He knew personally how difficult this likely was for Fred, having been in this situation with Soren not that long ago...although that much didnāt need to be known. āBecause you were friends Ā once, and from what Iāve come to learn close friends. I know heās...difficult, even trying to dissuade me from being with you by telling me things, but I donāt care. I chose you. He uses psychological manipulation to try and āmake friendsā, but Iām going to work on that with him. I wonāt let him hurt you again, I promise you that. But I need your help too. There isnāt any part of you that wants to be friends with him again if you know it wonāt be as bad as it had been?ā Ā Ā He giggled some before reaching for the doorknob and finally leading Fred inside, one of the servants bringing in Fredās belongings behind them. It was obvious now his meaning ofĀ āclutteredā wasnāt the same as what Fred thought, only meaning that it wasnāt as themed and perfectly decorated like the rest of the manor. The room itself was clean, a desk with notebooks stacked in itās shelves on the far wall in front of the large window. There was a bookcase, full of books, ranging from manga to thick novels and a comfortable looking chair beside it, his bed was large and several plush pokemon were seated on it. Though the walls were what made the room stand out; on one was a large case, full of different kinds of swords and knives some obviously aged, and another held dozens of Contest ribbons. The others held posters and photographs of various assortments of the family - and even a few of his cosplays, and most of the surfaces were covered in nick-knacks and candles, the room itself smelling of incense.Ā Ā Ā āAh...I hope this will work for you, all of the bedrooms even have their own bathrooms but...um...Iād prefer you didnāt look at the notebooks...theyāre just silly things I wrote when I was younger and itās kind of embarrassing...ā
