( ♥* : testing waters.
Sabitsuki had learned a few things in the past few weeks.
One, apparently the “War of The Worlds” remake was only a temporary thing. Things had simmered to something akin to peace, and there were no more corpses littering the street, so she’d hoped it was a one-time deal. Two, she was, more or less, living on the street. Three, almost all of her effects were gone—not to mention, she’d been given a stick—and four, the only effect she could use was one of her most useless ones. The Cat effect.
Now, granted, maybe she could’ve been able to make some use of it if she could turn into an actual cat, but as it stood, she could only get halfway there. And only for a brief period of time, it seemed. Still, she felt a little less….lost with it equipped, so that was one upside.
Ears twitching and tail swaying, she decided to leave the safety of her box and gather her bearings, now that the dust had settled. The heightened senses were another upside, and given how…unsettling the area of District Gamma was—almost reminding her of the areas within the FLOW program—the heighten senses were something of a comfort.
The young woman’s pupils immediately constricted as a dark blur fell in front of her, and she only just managed to refrain from rearing back.
…..Oh.
A cat. Funny! Real funny.
Ah, but, she always did have a soft spot for cats..
Sabitsuki regarded the smaller feline for a moment and slowly knelt down, one ear flicking in response to the attempt at communication. She’d never communicated with felines in the FLOW program, as there weren’t very many, so she ‘d never been sure if she could actually….interact with them, vocally speaking. It felt like hearing a language she used to know—she knew it should mean something, and she could almost pinpoint it, but Sabitsuki still couldn’t quite understand.
Licking her top lip, Sabitsuki looked around for a moment before returning her focus to the kitten, trying to appear serious despite the embarrassed heat rushing to her face.
This is so stupid…
Hesitantly, and very aware of how she looked, Sabitsuki replied with a rrrow of her own.
He was extremely happy to be received in this form just as well as his other-- to be communicated with in a manner not quite necessary, but familiar to him, was a gracious feeling. He’d found someone who understood him quite literally. She was the first cat-like being he’d met in this city, other than his half brothers, and was relieved he had somebody else to talk to about life as a feline. He wondered if she could even be of the Katze race herself..
At the sound of her reply, his eyes closed in joy, his lips upturning almost human-like. He sauntered forward to rub his head against her leg, a very quiet purr rumbling through from is throat.
Five minutes was approximately the time he’d had left before he changed back into his usual self, and he still didn’t feel comfortable enough to be seen in public. Cutting off their connection obviously early, the cat turned around to face his company, then trotted towards the ally from which he first arrived. There were less people in there, meaning they could talk peacefully.
Another mew, loudly this time, was offered with a flick of his ear. He could vocalize his need for her to follow him if he truly needed to, but he would hope that his was enough indication for her. Following a cat as it walked off was silly for many people, as he came to notice, but given she wasn’t the same as other people, he disappeared into the side street with faith that she’d follow after him.
