Half-assed 'whataboutism'...

Under Obama, ICE was doing its job (however unpleasant) which was to enforce immigration. And some people did take issue with it, but it was more about the policy and philosophy behind it that people disagreed with. There wasn’t ever (as far as I recall) questions of constitutional legality. And he simultaneously protected other immigrants with things like DACA.

ICE wasn’t converted into a militarized occupying force that attacks citizens in/near their homes and often arrests them purely on the basis of their skin color in order to throw red meat to the vile racist minority of the country that most heavily supports the current president, all under the guise of “enforcing immigration.”

Same goes for under Bush II. Under Trump’s first term, it wasn’t this bad either. And under Biden, ICE resumed doing its normal duties.

Trump’s second term involves a blatant fascist use of ICE, hiring thousands of criminals and thugs with minimal training to attack people based on race and politics while stomping on Due Process and the Constitution.

The unconstitutionality of the tariffs should’ve been a 9-0 vote. The power of taxation rests with Congress. It is a lesson we all learned in basic civics class in seventh grade. No taxation without representation. This was the basis of the Boston tea party. Trump has access to constitutional experts. He’s just not interested in the rule of law.

For some context: People have been blowing whistles or setting their car alarms off to alert people that ICE is nearby. Of course they've been unlawfully detained for warning people.

There is a website where you can report and see reports of ICE sightings, but I'm a bit paranoid of it and I'm not going to link it and possibly put others at risk.
