Ok so the thing about Dva in overwatch is that mechanically/programming wise she is an absolute DUMPSTER FIRE. The Overwatch engine doesn’t like characters nesting in each other/transitioning like Dva does in and out of her mech. So basically what they do is mech Dva is a single character model and when you kill the mech it enters a death animation. The game then quickly in the same instances ressurects the player without the “death” affecting their stats or anything like that and spits the player out of the mechs corpse as baby Dva and transfers “playership” to that character mesh. The thing is though for some reason it doesn’t just make a Dva character model. It makes a Dva character model that still contains junk code containing the properties of the mech that just aren’t used. So that’s why Dvas size is always relative to the mech size.

For whatever reason in the video that Dva was still tagged as a mech and when killed spit out a proportionally smaller Dva. Note the flashing and animation of the newly spawned tiny Dva. It looks like she’s popping out of a mech doesn’t it?
