Plain Jane is neither tall, nor short
She is of a rather average sort
Plain Jane possesses long brown hair
No glitz, no glamour, no savoir faire
Her eyes are gray, her skin fair
Her appearance bland, in need of some flair
Plain Jane is afraid of change you see
She wants to fit in like you and me
To be noticed is not Jane’s thing
She feels self conscious beneath society’s glaring
She knows how to wear the right clothes
She knows just how to powder her nose
She knows how to talk, just what to say
Yet she’s grown tired of acting this way
Plain Jane is strolling in the rain
Thinking thoughts beneath her brown mane
She’s tired of boring, she needs a change
”No more with conforming” Jane utters in rage
No more straightening her long, curly mane
Goodbye to her wardrobe, so lifeless and plain
Bold, bright colors displayed by the minute
Wild accessories she can’t wait to exhibit
Confident and Sassy Jane strolls through town
Smiling at others who turn and frown
Jane is no longer worried about blending
Her inner child needed some mending
Jane is happy being true to herself
Putting plain to rest on a shelf
Jane has a Message for all of you
You’ll be so much happier if you’re true to you
