Happy Moon Landing Day! ❤️👩🚀🌛
Gale is the perfect man for the Dark Urge
A good man at his core who is easily swayed into moral greyness by power and self-interest? A man hand selected as a child to be his Goddess’s chosen? A man abandoned to die by said Goddess for his disobedience? A man with a destructive force inside him he is torn between trying to remove or succumb to, by request of his Goddess? I mean come ON! They really have so much in common.
Also, so much material for angst between them. I like to think that ResistDurge maybe comes to the conclusion that to be free of the urge they have to die. Maybe they feel it’s penance and justice for all the lives they’ve taken. So they go to face Orin and instruct their companions not to intervene in the duel. But Gale and the others can’t abide by it, they see Durge slowly losing and step in. Orin falls, Durge denies Bhaal, Bhaal kills Durge, and Withers brings them back, free of the urge at last.
Imagine newly free Durge’s outrage at BoyfriendGale’s insistence he should still use the orb and die then. Imagine Gale’s outrage right back knowing Durge was willing to kill themselves too. Imagine Durge mistrusting Mystra and disapproving of Gale’s dreams of divinity because they KNOW how cruel and unaccountable the Gods can truly be. Both of them have been playthings, and both of their stories revolve around continuing to seek that approval/power/protection or not.
Imagine Durge, who has known no warmth, kindness, or levity in their life meeting this silly sad wizard and, without memory of the dark underground temple they grew up in, being drawn to the comfortable life he speaks about. Feeling the cold loneliness of Gale’s description of his time locked in his tower in their bones, even if they have no memory of the life it happened. Durge, and Gale, making friends for the first time. Durge, wholly unaware of how out of character it is for them to be rescuing damsels and refugees doing it anyway because they like to see the funny wizard man happy, confused by how much they like this ‘doing good deeds’ thing. Durge, whose choices so far in life have probably been solely between types of weapons or choice of victims, realising hmmmm… I think I want a cat, and a pretty tower overlooking the water, and a romantic nerd of a husband who encourages me to do the right thing whilst being low-key okay with the awful shit I’ve done, because he’s open minded and unafraid of the darkness and willing and eager to understand the incomprehensible. Durge was created to be Bhaal’s, Gale was raised to be Mystra’s; they are two fallen Chosen choosing themselves, and each other, and mortal mundane life instead and obviously, I am a little bit feral for it.
Can't Desmond Hume be left alone for one milisecond please why must he suffer 24/7
We were actually robbed of a fleshed out Michael, Sun and Jin dynamic. They deserved to be as weird about each other as Jack, Kate and Sawyer

I think that if Eko’s actor didn’t leave the show, then he would’ve been the best candidate for Jacob.
He is honestly the perfect embodiment of Jacob’s beliefs, and lives as a contradiction to the Man in Black’s. M.I.B believed it was human nature to sin, but Eko tells him that it’s not. That he has not sinned, he only did what was necessary to survive. Similarly to Jacob, he believes a man is more than his actions - more than his “sins.” He knows what is necessary, and is not afraid of it.
He was one of the few people on the island who could recognize that in themselves, and it upset the Man in Black.
And unlike Locke, he did not need a miracle to believe in the island. His faith was natural, and unshakable. He was not someone who could be manipulated using his faith, like the Man in Black did with John. He knew what he believed in, and more importantly, he knew what was true.
His faith was never circumstantial, and it never wavered unlike Jack or Locke. Which I personally think would make for a perfect protector for the island.
Where Jack doubts, Eko wouldn’t. Where Jacob refuses to step in, Eko would. And where the mother lowkey gate-keeps the island, Eko probably also wouldn’t.
Mr. Eko for island protector 2026
middle aged, gay and married. who does it like them?
MEANWHILE JACK:
Penelope Widmore is actually the nepo baby of all time. Fucking hates her rich dad but has seemingly never had a job in her life so she just lives off his money and uses it to fund her vagabond lifestyle with her trophy husband who her dad wants dead. No one’s doing it like her
Shannon deserved better in every regard, but most of all she at least deserved to live long enough to meet Benjamin Linus. Like there is a certain level of Absolute Bitchyness that Ben exhibits and the only one close to matching it is Sayid and even that, they didn’t play to its full potential, but Ben and Shannon? Forget about it. They would have played off each other so well (I think Ben would have secretly loved her. In a fangirl way, not romantic, mind you.) Like my boy Ben would NOT be a Saydia shipper
juliet's ex husband getting ran over by a bus mid argument regina george style is so fucking funny man
Lost characters on the island:
John Locke: The island healed my paralysis
Rose: The island cured my cancer
Sayid: the island made my hair even more luxurious and beautiful
I kept asking what Smoke Monster's name was and my brother was like "he's The Monster, but some people call him the Man in Black" and I said "Man in Black? MIB, got it." So I just called him Mib and since he DOESNT HAVE A NAME FOR LITERALLY NO GOOD REASON that dumbass's name is Mib permanently now.
No because imagine you're benjamin linus, proving yourself over and over and over, dedicating your life to a cause, to a person, believing you were chosen for something and leading with that thought. And then A MAN crashed from A PLANE and he suddenly CAN WALK AFTER 4 YEARS OF BEING PARALYZED. And that man sees things and is more of a chosen one than you ever were and ever will be and slowly but surely he starts taking your place. And what are you left with? A tumor in your spine.
ABSOLUTELY Not justifying everything he did before and after but that must have been awful.
the lost writers were just ragebaiting when they wrote all of that chemistry and yearning between claire and kate and then just made them fall in love with men
Penny Widmore needs to be talked about a million times more because what do you mean she chartered and captained a boat to go out into the middle of literal nowhere because someone she doesn't know sent her a radio signal saying that Desmond was "somewhere on an Island"???? What do you mean she is THE "my father is the worst man alive and I am his favourite daughter" GIRL?????? What do you mean she is someone's CONSTANT?????? Talk more about Penny Widmore!!!!!! Give her an episode to herself!!!!!!!! I don't care that the show is long over I WANT A PENNY EPISODE!!!!!!
so unfortunate that lost falls into the trap of women having nonsensical and innate “maternal instincts” bc it would’ve been so interesting to me to see kate struggle with being a parent to aaron. like this is the woman who drugged and left her husband after a pregnancy SCARE. her relationship to motherhood would be a lot more complicated than what’s shown on screen imo
As he stands there, brimming with grief, brimming with life, the woman lies there in silence. The woman dies for him. We watch it happen. We read about it happening. We come to know it well. - Aoko Matsuda
