stop staying “theatre” when what u really mean is “mainstream broadway tony-winning musicals”

theatre is still fucking relevant u assholes just only care about one tiny sect of it

do some research, find the theatres and companies near you even if they’re doing shows you’ve never heard of, take a tiny drive and pay $15-$20 to support the arts. jesus christ. theatre is everywhere. just because it isn’t the national tour of dear evan hansen doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.

None of what you said made OPs post less accurate. Regional Theater IS fucking dying especially with are new administrations that doesn’t give fuck about the arts, so they receive less grants for shows. Also wear the fuck are going where you can see a local show for only $15 to $20. I can see if it’s a show for college but the average around here is about $40 to $50. I don’t understand why this is such a controversial topic. If theater became more accessible more ppl would get into the arts, local actors can become well know and paid more. Like there is nothing for this argument except elitism. -Costume Designer with a B.A in theatre.
