"Oh, that…" Touya glanced back at the box, head cocking to the side. Memories flooded through his mind, from years ago when he first started his Pokémon journey. "Professor Juniper dropped it off years ago. It had the Poké Balls with our starters inside it."
A scratched up, old Poké Ball covered in stickers was set down on the desk next to the box. It contained his Emboar, who he had gotten out of this very box. He didn’t know why he kept it, but for some reason, he couldn’t bring himself to get rid of it.
Moving around the bed so N’s back faced him, he took N’s hair in one hand and gathered it into a ponytail, using a rubberband from his desk to tie it back once more. Then he sat on the side of the bed, leaning over with his hands clasped between his knees.
"I still can’t believe I found you," he mumbled.
N wriggled closer to the other, nuzzling gently into the teen's lower back with a hum. Touya sounded troubled, or at the very least, thoroughly dazed. Had his disappearance been that much of a shock to the trainer? Guilt made him sit up in order to proper wrap his longer arms around Touya's thin waist.
The nape of his neck still tingled from the gentle boy's touch while tying his hair back for him. N wished he could do something of the same for the boy, but the most he can do is bury his nose into the back of his head, snorting lightly into fluffy brown locks.
"It must be very important to you," N commented quietly, drawing back to give Touya some space. He swung his legs over the bedside's edge with ease, sitting by his friend's side with a softened expression, much calmer and childish than when they had first met.
Their reunion, which had occurred not even a day's worth of time yet, already seemed so long ago. The absence of words were nice; there was no need to be pretentious between them.
"... Hey," N finally mumbled out after some time, "You can say whatever's on your mind, you know."

He had never meant to go through with it from the start.
It had all been a speculation on the mere possibility of it happening, never the actual probability. Never in his wildest dreams did N think he would ever find himself voluntarily becoming a stowaway on a cargo plane that was still being loaded.
At first, while he panicked to find a hiding spot large enough for him and his bush of a hair (yes, he had to consider it as it was longer and brighter than the norm), he began to regret everything. Dashing along secretly along the runway, slipping past the distracted workers! How deceitful he was being. N didn't really like the feeling of it all, but he was too scared to simply get up and expose himself now.
Tucking his knees against his chest, N wriggled back to snugly fit himself in between a few large crates. It wasn't necessarily the most comfortable place to be, but he wasn't complaining -- if only for the poor air quality.
He groaned. Quietly. He wasn't even sure of where this plane would take him in the first place! If by some miracle, he landed in Sinnoh, then he would have no complaints... but judging by his surroundings, there was a slim chance. A plane this small wouldn't be able to clear a whole region in one flight.
Pale fingers brushed lightly against the print that was stamped onto each wooden crate -- 'Mistralton & Co.' -- along with the faint scent of earth.
N, assuming he was alone, drew back as far as he could along the storage. Maybe he should take a nap. All this sneaking around was putting far more stress onto him than expected...

N equates safety with happiness, and so far he feels safest by Reshiram’s side. The dragon has gotten a kick out of yanking (gently) at N’s ponytail lately. It makes both of them laugh.

N’s childhood was something a lot of ‘normal’ kids would be envious of — a castle to roam about to oneself, a whole crown to wear! Each meal would have at least one new entree. But despite this seemingly spoiled and luxurious lifestyle, it was anything but a proper home — N grew up without parental love for the most part. In the end, he was only a child born to be molded into the shape of a king… and sadly, nothing more.
