Robby asking Duke to check in on Dennis, rather than Abbott. Maybe the alarm gets tripped and Robby gets that call from the alarm company in the middle of the night and can't get ahold of Dennis so he needs someone there YESTERDAY to make sure he's okay and Jack turns his phone off at work. So Duke gets to see Dennis with his tits out and a pair of shorts so thin theyre probably illegal in the little hick town he came from
“god dammit, robby,” duke cursed as he opened his friend’s creaky front door. he could’ve borrowed some WD-40 anytime! duke muttered to himself, “why get a silent alarm if you have this shit?”
duke was 95% sure there was no murderer, but robby was paranoid about this kid. duke met him a couple times, he could take care of himself. he wasn’t exactly willowy.
july was hot in pittsburgh, and dennis was particularly reluctant to turn on robby’s AC. that meant when duke walked in on him passed out on the couch, he was in just some short shorts.
duke quietly wolf whistled to himself before double checking there was no intruder. his heavy boots startled dennis awake.
“shit!” dennis sat up quickly. “what’s goin’ on?”
duke smirked at his messy hair, eying him up and down. “the silent alarm got tripped. robby was nervous you were getting sprayed on the walls or something.”
dennis squinted at the light and yawned. “wait, what?”
“door,” duke pointed to the closed back door, “set off alarm.” his tone was brutish and simple. “robby go crazy.”
dennis looked at the back door he’d originally left cracked for the draft. “the air must’ve made it slam shut. the alarm turns on at ten.” he shook his head, like he could shake off the sleepy incoherence. “sorry you had to come all the way out.”
“i’m not,” duke replied, leering at dennis’s practically naked body. he got a wicked idea and brought his phone out of his pocket, quickly snapping a picture. “i think robby would appreciate some proof of life.”
robby disliked the picture in the message thread. he saved it to his private folder though.
