Aroace culture is being completely shocked when your friend finally holds to your arm and caresses your hand platonically because you spent your entire life not being touched by your friends outside of hugs and high-fives because anything more was considered a flirt or romantic gesture by the adults

Then you just break into a smile as you walk because it was like someone finally wanted to touch you, maybe you're likable, maybe they're touchy, but the point is someone is finally touching you and they're happy about it.

Aro ace culture is being told growing up that you’ll just find the right person, and that some people will mature slower, and that don’t rush it you’ll find your person, and you seemed obsessed with this character, you totally had a crush on them. And no one understands that no everyone else had felt some sort of crush on someone else, or had been in at least one relationship by the end of sophomore year, while you still felt nothing, even when you tried to. And having other and yourself mix up just a want for an emotional bond with someone, and occasionally finding someone aesthetically pleasing with a crush. I just really find it frustrating how much our culture centers on oh you’ll eventually feel these feelings don’t you worry, when it’s like no probably not.

“You sleep, I watch.” means so much to me.

I’m asexual. I view intimacy very differently than most people. The literal act of sleeping beside someone is a far deeper allowance of vulnerability and trust than sex is for me. Some of my fondest memories of my former partner and those I love platonically, have been letting them rest beside or on me. And in reverse, its the same. Feeling safe enough to let go entirely in the presence of another person is rare for me. But its so comforting. My best friends know for sure I love 'em if I've nodded off in their presence.

When Rocky and Grace were worriedly waiting for each other to wake up after Adrian, I felt that. Been in similar situations a few times. And I always felt better that I could watch over the other person while they were ill or recovering from a surgery.

I dunno guys, this whole film already means so much to me as an ace person. But watching Grace and Rocky slowly form a bond and watching each other sleep, with such trust and love, just gets me right in the heart especially. Love love love all the fan art of it.
