Hey Dear, the twins want to know if they can go to the spire with you, Uhm they won't stop bugging me about it so it's your decision to let them go or not, I told them it's dangerous. so what is your answer?
Rain is sitting at the kitchen table with her phone when the ask pops up.
"…The twins want to go to the Spire with me…?"
"P.S. I love you!! – Lynx."
Across the table, Pure Vanilla looks up from the book he was reading.
Rain tilts the phone slowly.
"Do… you know someone named Lynx?"
"…I do not believe I do."
From the couch, Shadow Milk lazily lifts his head.
"Lynx?" he repeats with a grin. "Sounds like a delightful troublemaker already."
Rain squints at the message again.
Then reads the rest out loud.
"'The twins want to know if they can go to the Spire with you… they won't stop bugging me about it… I told them it's dangerous…'"
White Lily tilts her head slightly.
"I don't even know what Spire we're talking about."
From the hallway, GingerBrave pops his head in.
"…'Lynx' says they're bugging her about it."
She glances around the room.
"Do… any of you have twins I don't know about?"
Everyone shakes their heads.
"Nope! I'd remember something like that!"
She blurts it directly at Shadow Milk.
The room goes dead silent.
Shadow Milk nearly falls.
He points dramatically at himself.
"I don't even know this Cookie!"
Rain spins the phone around.
"It literally says you're married!"
Shadow Milk stares at the screen like it personally offended him.
Across the table, Pure Vanilla looks deeply confused.
Shadow Milk gestures wildly.
"I WOULD REMEMBER GETTING MARRIED."
From the other side of the room, Burning Spice bursts out laughing.
Golden Cheese raises an eyebrow.
"You… having more children would certainly explain your chaotic tendencies."
Shadow Milk throws his arms up.
"THEY AREN'T MY CHILDREN!"
Rain slowly lowers the phone.
Her brain visibly working.
Then she mutters quietly.
Rain pinches the bridge of her nose.
"…This is an alternate universe situation, isn't it."
Shadow Milk freezes mid-rant.
"Another universe where apparently you're married to someone named Lynx and have twins."
Shadow Milk looks horrified.
"I refuse to believe there is a universe where I voluntarily commit to family life."
From the window, Eternal Sugar giggles softly.
"Oh, that sounds adorable."
Espresso adjusts his glasses.
"Multiversal family structures are theoretically possible…"
Rain looks back at the message again.
Then sighs and answers out loud.
She leans back in her chair.
"If the Spire is dangerous like you said…"
She shakes her head firmly.
"Then the twins shouldn't go."
Pure Vanilla nods approvingly.
"They can visit when it's safe. But shouldn't go into dangerous places like the Spire"
"…Especially kids that technically belong to a Shadow Milk from another universe."
Shadow Milk slumps dramatically against the couch.
"I have been slandered by the multiverse."
From the side, Hollyberry laughs loudly.
Rain taps the phone one last time.
"So, final answer, Lynx."
"No Spire trip for the twins."
Then mutters under her breath.
"…and good luck raising Shadow Milk's kids."
