Veronica Lodge + her glasses
puresthonesty:
Ok, so Veronica admitted she’d had better ideas. Meeting up with a known thug, who didn’t really discriminate on who he shattered the bones of? Not a great way to commemorate her move here. Suddenly she was in a tiny house, wearing thrift store finds, and getting harassed up and down the neighbourhood. But she still had her pearls, and she was sure that Mickey Milkovich had more going for him than he let on. She waved when she spotted him, a pleasant smile on her face. He looked less than thrilled, but she didn’t let it bother her as she sauntered over.
Mickey didn’t wave back when he made eye contact with her. He glanced around a bit, making sure there was nobody else around. He turned away from her, already starting to walk off with the assumption that she’d catch up. “Let’s make this quick. I got shit to do.”
“You know, you could stand to turn up that charm just...a tad, Milkovich.” She crooned in reply, arms crossing over her chest as she slowed to a stop a few feet in front of him, one well groomed brow arching in amusement. “And don’t let me stop you, I’m sure you’re busy.” Veronica knew full well he wouldn’t leave her now, he was too paranoid.
They’d agreed to meet up– she’d texted him, at least, and he was forced to go along with whatever she wanted. (For now– until he figures a way out of this.) He was waiting for her outside school, in the back parking lot; he stood licking his lips, leaning against some shitty blue car, squinting against the sun as he waited. There’s a reason he’d picked the back parking lot– he didn’t want anyone to see them together.

Veronica: I fucking love girls.
Cheryl: In the feminism way or the gay way?
Veronica: Yes.

CHARACTER AESTHETICS │VERONICA LODGE (RIVERDALE)
others: core four
puresthonesty:
“To help you? I mean, you seem pretty lost. Mooning after a ginger like everyone else at this school.” Her tone was half humour, half sincerity. Veronica was lonely, sadder than anyone realized, maybe she saw some of that in Mickey. He’d totally beat her down for saying that, though.
“I’m not mooning over a–watch your fucking mouth.” He was prickly as hell–he may have said they were friends, but it wasn’t hard to see that he could care less about getting to know her any better. Well, any better than she forced him to. “Just ‘cause you’re standing six inches away from me doesn’t mean you fucking know me.”
“I dunno, got a pretty good look. But hey, what do I know?” She giggled half heartedly, almost like someone who definitely had a death wish. “Anyway, gotta bounce. Places to be, people to see, jewels to try. See you around, Mickey.” Turning on her heel with an inordinate amount of grace, she excused herself, shoes snapping against the linoleum floor.
puresthonesty:
“Bisexual, for the last time. And yes. My last school was full of capitalist A-listers. If they found out that I liked girls too, they’d kill me.” Given who she was, the youngest of the Lodge Clan didn’t fully understand why this was the detail Mickey latched on to. For her…it was nothing but looking for friendship. Not life or death…necessarily.
Mickey licked his lips, eyes still darting around before settling on Veronica’s. “Fine, we’re friends, what do you want?”

Apologies for the lack of activity! The direction Riverdale is going has...floored me. And if I’m honest, Veronica’s muse has been a little lacklustre. However, I love writing her, so I’m going to give myself a few days to mull it over. I may end up moving her to my multimuse, in which case any of you who want to continue our threads can find her there.
puresthonesty:
“Queen B is most certainly the expert on these things, I’ll let her handle the lock picking, stick to my blind rage and sledge hammer.” Given how petite, and refined she looked all the time, even Veronica could appreciate the hilarity of that idea. Ski mask and spray can at the ready, defacing the stores she normally flocked to. Irony at its’ finest. But surprising people was one of her favourite things to do, especially when it came to things about her personality, or behaviour.
“I will entrust you with Forever 21, good sir, if I can make ruins of Banana Republic.”
For once, her outsider status felt a little less apparent. Like maybe, she’d be able to find her feet here. One day, anyway.
Jughead felt a smirk tug at his lips at the supposed plan that was unfolding at their diner table. Granted, all of this was hypothetical, but still, the dream of it was comforting. Knowing that there was nothing he could do to keep the future of the Drive-In from happening their plans of revenge felt necessary. Then there was the fact that Veronica was placating this madness was calming and, at the very least, redeeming.
Never would he had taken her for a sledge hammer kind of girl.
“Oh? And what did Banana Republic do to you that warrants a death by sledge hammer?” He leaned back against the back of his seat, draping one arm over the back of the booth in a more comfortable fashion,
“You know, other than existing.”
“I would argue that existing is more than enough of a reason.” The raven haired girl replied, her own smirk as wide as one of those picturesque prairie paintings she’d seen so many times as a child. Funny how in a city like New York, all they ever thirsted for was a taste of some sort of real landscape. Concrete jungles couldn't always satisfy, she supposed.
There was a camaraderie feeling, here. The closest she’d ever really been at having a real conversation with Jughead. The aloof, Heathcliff type of their one horse town; he was only really friendly with Archie and Betty. So Veronica didn't take his lack of trust for her too personally.
Besides, it seemed like there was still hope, if a dramatic revenge plot had anything to say about it.
puresthonesty:
They were night and day. This much she was aware of. Veronica had been raised holding her surroundings at an arm’s length. Money could buy everything, and experiences could be purchased too. Places like the Twilight hadn’t been on offer, though her mother certainly knew how to appreciate them. She’d grown up like any other girl in Riverdale. Ronnie felt herself envying that, these days.
As he reminded her of his profound curiosity, there was an odd sort of tugging in her stomach. After all, she knew. She knew exactly who, how, when and why. Veronica had information Jughead would’ve maimed for. And it was awfully tempting to spill. To be upfront, and honest, like she prided herself on being…
She couldn’t bring herself to do it, though. Because not only would it breed contempt between them, and by extension her other new friends. But the raven haired girl also knew that Hiram Lodge wasn’t one for sentimentality. He would never understand that memories, that an experience could be worth more than a real estate opportunity.
“Who knows what’ll go up…but I personally volunteer to vandalize it first thing, if you need a buddy.”
Naturally, Betty or Archie would be choices before her. But, she still had to offer.
He let a short chuckle escape as a smile spread across his features at Veronica’s statement. Jughead appreciated the notion, truly.
“There would be something very poetic about you vandalizing a shopping mall.” He said in good humor, but honestly to see the girl, who looked as if she walked out of a vogue magazine on a normal day, destroying and desecrating the very places those items were bought would make for an interesting vision. The idea lessened the pain of the whole situation. It wasn’t a lot, but Jughead was grateful for anything that made him feel like his carefree self before everything seemed to have gone to hell. He’d cling to anything if it meant he could pretend that his world was fraying away at every seam.
“In a way I’m kind of hoping for a mall, now.” His smile was still playing on his lips, “I already have the spray paint. We’ll be like PETA, but you know, without the good intentions and gallant messages.”
Jughead leaned forward on the table before continuing, “Obviously Betty has to be involved since she’s some kind of Goddess of breaking and entering, but know now that I call dibs on the Forever 21.”
Irony at its’ finest. puresthonesty:
“Alright. I’ll spell this out for you, since apparently it’s such a complicated concept. I want to be your friend. I am also closeted, just like you, and I think we can help each other. Clear? Good.” Veronica’s sass had returned in full force, and she wasn’t gonna go without making sure Mickey understood exactly what her intentions were.
He blinked. “Hold–you’re saying no one knows you’re a lesbian?” That changed things. If he knew about her and she knew about him, he had leverage; she couldn’t tell anyone about him without knowing he’d do the same. Mutually assured destruction.
“Bisexual, for the last time. And yes. My last school was full of capitalist A-listers. If they found out that I liked girls too, they’d kill me.” Given who she was, the youngest of the Lodge Clan didn't fully understand why this was the detail Mickey latched on to. + @puresthonesty
“so, you’re like a mandatory member of josie and the pussycats, right? think you could help me out with something? i’ve written a song, or at least, something in need of a title. thing is, though, that i’m beat. i’ve written down three titles. i personally like cry no more, but there are a million, trillion songs with that name…”
“Member? Well...maybe at heart. But I’d be happy to help. Particularly in a creative endeavour, of the upmost importance.” Her smile was wide, as she tipped her head in agreement. Veronica was eager to make new friends, and be a nice girl for once.
Hey all! After a very long break (didn’t intend it to be so long) I am back and slowly getting my veronica muse back, if people are still interested in writing.
Announcing a hiatus due to enormous amounts of IRL things happening that are totally draining my muse. So sorry guys, I love Veronica, and I love writing with y’all. Feel free to IM me if you have any questions.
