                    her  words  were  countered  by  dark  circles  rimming  her  eyes ,  hair  disheveled ,  voice  even  raspier  than  usual .  but  she  was  fine ,  she  was  always  fine .  nothing  was  too  much  for  the  badass  shura  kirigakure  --  especially  not  in  front  of  marceline .  she’d  work  herself  to  death  before  allowing  herself  to  show  signs  of  weakness  ( when  she  actually  worked ) .

                    flashing  a  lazy  smile  in  the  other’s  direction ,  an  arm  draped  itself  over  marceline’s  shoulders ,  nose  faintly  burrowing  itself  into  auburn  strands .  a  rare  display  of  affection  that  was  also  a  sure  sign  of  her  fatigue .
