i am a slow roleplayer. not only do i get distracted easily, i get overwhelmed easily. sometimes i can’t talk and do drafts at the same time so i am sorry if i ignore your message. i am deliberate and methodical with every word choice. i like to spend my time on my writing and getting to that emotional level within myself to evoke a proper response with each reply. i’m not good at whipping out thread after thread. i never have been. i’m sorry if that’s the way you roleplay and i don’t match up, but i like to think the quality of the writing makes up for my lack of speed. thank you so much!

interesting take. I did have the verse kinda follow along two different stevens. one of them being toddler steven (before moving in with the cg) and show steven. i should probably change that so it’s just season 1 babey. mostly because im too lazy to make toddler steven icons.

Connie barely managed to stifle a yelp of worry. Her gaze switched between the boy’s face and the scar that hung across his chest.

“That can’t be good.” She shifted her balance from one foot to the other, hand raised to cover her mouth as her mind started to race again. Even though she knew, as he stood right in front of her, that Steven was fine now, the thought of something leaving a gash that his own powers couldn’t heal filled her with a mixture of trepidation and guilt. She should’ve been there. What use was she as a knight when she couldn’t save him from things like this? The concern on her face was palpable, but she swallowed down her feelings. “What happened while I was away? Do the gems know?”

“ well ... “

he paused

“ ... that’s actually why i came to you first. i went on lion to explore an abandoned gem location despite garnet telling me not to. i guess we missed a couple of corrupted gems, but one was there and it attacked me. i was only distracted for a couple of seconds but it managed to hit me. “

“ garnet will know i went there if i show her the shirt. you’re someone i can trust with this. so i came to you instead. don’t tell them — please! they will just overreact when it’s no big deal! “

“ well too bad! 'cause it matters to me and i care about my bro and nothing will change that. ”

cookie tightened his grasp in the hug before releasing his hold to place both hands on his shoulders.

“ i like you for you, stevie! and i’ll be here. always. “

“But hey– we could make cookies that look like everyone and then eat them and tell whoever walks in that we turned everyone into cookies!”

“ i guess that’s right. i’d still feel weird about eating cookie me. “

he chuckled at the thought. some poor unsuspecting steven walking in and seeing the carnage.

“ that would be a funny prank, but i’d feel bad if we actually freak out a steven.”

he sat with his back against the wall. he was tired for sure, but couldn’t risk going to bed. though, his body screamed for him to rest. he couldn’t. what if something happened? sure, spinel was doing fine on homeworld, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t another gem wanting to kill him and destroy his home.

steven turned to his friend, who was resting beside him. a smile appearing on his cheeks. at least someone can rest with all this mess going on. rolling his head back over to stare at the ceiling steven sighed, it was going to be a long night. tapping away at his phone was the only distraction he had.
