Was excited to see you posted your older everlark drabbles from tumblr on AO3 as I wasn't around in the fandom then. Can't wait to read them! Your most recent everlark, Best of Three, is one of my favorite high school aus ever! It's so sweet and hot! Do you have any plans to write more everlark?

Hi anon! Thank you, I hope you enjoy them - I have to confess that the drabble collection is a result of (a) rediscovering my google drive after almost 10 years, (b) wanting to salvage what was on there so that I can delete the files and also recover what was on my old laptop so that I can dispose of that and (c) wanting to get my fic in one place.

Another confession: I fully intended to write more Everlark when I read Sunrise on the Reaping in April. Not because that story inspired me, but more that it made me feel like everything had come full circle and I wanted to finish a couple of ongoing fics. But then I read The Empyrean series while on holiday and became obsessed. And then I needed something to distract me from the book hangover with that and started reading other fantasy romance series and enjoying them, namely The Mages of the Wheel and The Bridge Kingdom. And somehow I wrote 3000 words last night for the latter which I know no one is going to read because there are only like 5 fics on AO3 for the series but I wanted to write it anyway.

I am having a horrible time at work at the minute, and escaping into books and fandom is really helping. But I’ve let my life admin slip and need to find a balance. Sorry, I’m rambling. My desire to finish my Everlark stories still remains, and is probably greater now that I’ve found other unfinished stories on my G drive and laptop. However, I need to balance that with my interest in reading other book series, needing to not let the life admin pile up and generally not go too far with the escapism.

TLDR; I have plans to write/complete Everlark stories, I just can’t commit to when they might happen. But it’s great that the fandom is so active right now and there are lots of great writers out there to feed readers and in turn be fed with kudos and comments 🙂

I've been obsessed since the first chapter, everything is perfect.

The sex is incredibly hot, the high school environment is so amazing, Peeta is sweet, Katniss is adorable.

I'm obsessed with the dialogue, with the references to the cannon. Everything is so fun to read. It's one of my favorite fanfics of all time

This is the kind of fanfic that reminds me why I write and makes me want to get better. That's why I try so hard, I want to get to that level.

Reading what you wrote here makes all the months of trying to steal an hour out of my evening or weekend to write this story worth it. I was convinced that it wouldn’t get much feedback because it’s just another high school AU when there must be hundreds of them by this point (and one written by an English person, no less). But to get this praise from you and beautiful comments from others has truly made my day/week/month/year. It reminds me how amazing it can feel to be part of a fandom and a community.

A word of caution from an old person though: you’ll be happier as a writer if you don’t compare your work to others. All writers have a place in fandom, and you’ll always feel like there are better writers. Enjoy the way those writers’ stories make you feel, and believe in the fact that you also write stories that make people feel that way, whether you receive one comment/kudos or hundreds ❤️
