Okay so in [S] Terezi: Remem8er. it was revealed that whenever anybody dies and is revived by a kiss or goes God Tier on their quest bed, they die anyway and their dream self takes up their place. That’s why we could see John in the flash despite that one having gone God Tier, and why we could see grimdark Rose despite her being kiss-revived.

That means that every single character in the comic who has gone God Tier on a quest bed, from their point of view, just died with no fanfare, never knowing that their dream self lived on.
