there are many scenes i really enjoy in 16 but the one currently on my mind is when clive is talking to byron about continuing his father's legacy with a very obvious cid shaped hole in the room

#choosing to believe he didn't mention cid because letting his uncle think cid swayed him from his birthright would be an inconvenient convo #in My Personal Opinion elwin didnt do shit #and i think a possible reading of the game involves cid & elwin representing contrast between the necessity of radical action #& the futility of trying to work within a broken system. which is what i've concluded is the point of the telamon surname #because that puts him (cid) in convo with clive's actual dad since the ajax figure in the story is obv clive #in fact there's an interesting parallel between the 'telemonian ajax' moniker and clive taking cid's name #always mentioned together in one breath <3 #ok but in seriousness it gives a nice completeness to the continued legacy package #ru's ff16 diary

still in kanver but i think it's nice that visually, clive and barnabas are obviously foils to each other. the fact that they look very alike to each other and have the red/blue dualism going for them are pretty inspired design choices. i think i find it cool because barnabas comes in pretty late so it's not something you clock instantly? for me, it adds more dimension to their feud and the contrasting positions they adopt re: ultima, cuz now i'm thinking about the other possible ways that they're narrative foils and how that's going to be revealed to me

(also i'm so used to the 'cid has a type' joke that the fact that there's intent behind it was extra shocking lolol)

Tutorial on how to install the floating commenting box on AO3

So for those of us who love live-commenting fics, there exists an amazing script tool created by @ravenel and described on this post. Basically the commenting box is floating as you scroll down the text so you can quote/write as you read without incessantly going and returning to/from a text editor.

I made this tutorial on how to install it on either Chrome or Firefox for @missmaxime but then I figured I might as well share it here so anyone else who’s interested could use it.

If you’re using another browser than Chrome or Firefox but know how to add extensions on it, then you can still follow part 2 of this tutorial since Tampermonkey is available for other browsers as well.
