Her grandbaby is the diseased Everything the devil has tried stealing back in her absence “Don’t think I ain’t gon’ not show up!” She would say

Don’t think she ain’t gon’ not show up Like she ain’t always been my set of legs to keep me grounded while I grow far from the root It was the organs that failed, her spirit ain’t even go nowhere

I hate doctors...

The doctor spoke so gently in the quiet of the room, I didn't realize what she was saying until I saw my mother's hands squeeze the life out of each other. Both of them watched my face for the signs and I thought Oh, I guess it's bad news then.

I learned that I’ve got MS and I needed something to focus on. Since I like the color and dyed my hair the same, I’ve decided to call my future happiness the Purple Mountain. When I get there to the very top, I’ll look back on this and be able to see how far I’ve come.
