This iconic silver denarius was minted to celebrate the assassination of Julius Caesar on the Ides of March in 44 BC. The daggers represent those used to kill Caesar and the date of his assassination (‘EID MAR’).

The reverse face art is very intricate and depicts Viking arms and armour from the 9th - 13th centuries.

Both of these coins feature the Island's "Three Legs of Man" or the Manx Triskelion.
A package has arrived! Got some things to do today, so will have to look these all over later.
