Okay so, I see this post is making it’s rounds again as it does every October.

For all the people who don’t know or just haven’t seen the other people in the notes who have pointed this out.

This DOES NOT happen.

No one is going to give out ecstasy or meth or marijuana to children for free as a prank because those are expensive drugs??

The only cases of candy being tampered with anything lethal is a rare case where a parent is just trying to kill their children for insurance money. Some family and or friends have also put things in candy as a prank, I do not believe these resulted in any harm or death. There are also cases of people giving out things that aren’t okay for children years ago that started these myths, but they were never drugs and not things that could kill anyone and the people who gave out these things were arrested.

This is all a fear mongering tactic, this particular post has been going around since I joined tumblr and there are people I know in real life who believe this because of how wide spread it is.

Still be sure to check your candy and your children’s candy for anything opened or tampered with because it’s just common sense to not eat stuff that looks messed with or stuff that is opened in a way that just seems suspicious.

Always stay safe, obviously, just know that stuff like this is rare.

This myth has been around for years, loads of articles just add to the fear mongering fire, they even have a Wikipedia article on it and how it’s all a myth.
