@pursuingjesus
Possibly one of my favorite analogies from scripture is found in John 15 where Jesus is depicted as the vine and God the gardener.
There, we read that no branch can bear fruit by itself, but in order to bear fruit, it must remain in the vine.
There, I learn that my strength can only take me so far. That my best efforts don't even come close to the fruits of the spirit.
When I try to produce fruit on my own, boy do I fail. I'm a lot of things - driven, hard-working, very perfectionistic by nature - but all of that only gets in the way if I'm not seeking God daily.

What I kind of man is this? Even the winds and waves obey Him.
