Is it possible the sleeve was just precautionary? Or like a safety blanket? I just refuse to believe he's still that hurt, that one match made it much worse again. I have to be delusional instead lol.

i think from his latest interview the pain on the arm might be a chronic issue that won't go away completely. but i don't think it is that bad currently. maybe the sleeve was for precautionary reasons, just like other players on tour always do. maybe he felt something because his arm hasn't adapt to the pressure of a tour match yet. anyway i think the forehand erros are still noticeable signals...it looks like he's not as 100% confident on his forehand as he did yesterday (might also credit to how jpj was playing).

Finally finished reading all pieces from jack’s press conference at eastbourne yesterday. Apart from the mental struggling related stuff, some notes for myself about his injury status and adjustment of his tennis that we could probably see in today’s match. Long story short: changing back to the play style he was used to with some bio mechanical adjustments advised by Andy. Might still play with pain but the condition should be better now compared with three weeks ago and these issues on his knee tendon and arm need a long term management and better preparation.

1. The setback leading to his withdrawal from Queen’s should still be the issue of knee tendinitis. For knee tendon injury recovery you need to add loads to your tendon little by little to make it adapt to the pressure gradually. We will need to see how his knee responds today though because it will be a long term management rather than complete recovery all at once:

2. The adjustment on the serve motion: He has changed it back to the pinpoint stance but with biomechanical adjustments, credited to Andy’s inputs. The attempt to change serve motion to the platform stance caused the knee issue because it recruited more leg drive:

3. Using of guts seems to be abandoned as well. From the results from IW to Barcelona we can see by using the platform serve stance and guts Jack compromised a lot in his games. [EDIT: From his match on Monday I think he was still using guts? Because there were several times when the ball just flew off which looked alike the situation he used to have in Dubai and Barcelona. And the sound of hitting doesn’t sound like poly. But I’m not an expert of this so hopefully it can be verified and confirmed by expertise or Jack himself.]

Thoughts about the strings: I think he’s still using guts plus poly but I’m not an expert on this. Just how the ball sometimes flew away and the sound reminded me of the time he was using guts. But this time I think he’s adapting them way better than months ago.
