So… I’m an alien? Welcome to the club.
Skylin + Making each other smile
fowl-mouthed-coroner:
Well, he wasn’t expecting this, that was clear. His joking grin dropped right off his face in a look of surprise at the woman before him. He even was silenced for a minute before pursing his lips in thought, “Yeah, actually. Not where most people go with that information.” He confessed.
“Your mom sounds pretty wonderful.” He commented, a tentative chuckle. “I’m going to go out on a limb and say she didn’t succeed.” He teased, eyeing the plethora of humans surrounding them. “Where was she from?”
“I’m not surprised, they’d probably call you crazy or coo-coo or something.” Daisy snorted, “They believe in Mutants and superpowers but god forbid you’re an Alien.”
Daisy’s smile faltered for a split second as old memories resurfaced unexpectedly, “No, she didn’t succeed— didn’t even get that far actually. She’s not from another planet, if that’s what you’re asking.” She look a long drink from her beer, “There was this secret community called the Afterlife, though— it used to be full of people like us with Kree blood in their veins.” Back then, she would have never dared to admit to being inhuman to another alien; most outsiders saw them as abominations, weapons that needed to be destroyed. But with the world falling to pieces around them and the SS swarming the streets everyday, that would be the least of their problems.
AOS Aesthetics: Daisy Johnson
“ Usually one person doesn’t solve the solution, but 100 people with 1% of the solution? That will get it done. I think that’s beautiful, pieces solving a puzzle. “
ofthievings:
Ellie found it so odd that such a party would take place and that so many would show up. She isn’t aware that it isn’t her time, not exactly, and she’s been avoiding asking. Instead she was standing in one of the few corners she could find eating cookies and drinking fruit punch. Her mind was distracted with questions of how to get to South America, how to get home to her children… They needed her and she needed help. But asking, asking wasn’t something she could do right now. “Um…” Ellie spoke softly, “where can I get one of those?” The beers.
Daisy looked down at her beer before pointing the woman towards the refreshments stand. She looked troubled, but Daisy chose not to question her-- some things were better left alone. “Anything else I can help you with...?”
blauerthanblue:
“Of course.” A church was a safe place to anyone who needed one – for whatever reason it might be. “Take as much time as you’d like.” Kurt told her before disappearing from the chandelier in another cloud of smoke. He reappeared in the rows above the floor. You’d think with how much he stood still and kept such an appearance to him to never attract attention to himself while appearing normal he wouldn’t be so… Hyper. But then he was gone again, blue smoke here and there as he reappeared and disappeared all about. “Miss Johnson,” he asked between teleporting, “Whatcha workin’ on?” Was he being too rude to ask?
“Thanks,” Daisy responded, before ducking her head down to continue her work. She was diligently typing away at her laptop when Kurt spoke up again, and she paused, not really minding his question. “Research, mostly trying to find intel on some specific people.” She explained to the mutant.
ofasilhouette:
“Thanks.” She said, a bit sheepish. Then, she laughed. “Maybe? The costume looked pretty so I just chose, it.” She did a slight twirl. “I’m pretty sure I know who you are though.” She noted with amusement in her tone.
“Oh, well it’s nice, and I like the sleeves.” Nodding in approval, Daisy couldn’t help herself and struck her best Captain America pose before winking at the girl. “And I’m pretty sure whatever you’re thinking is right.”
fowl-mouthed-coroner:
The coroner smirked as she teased him, a shake of his head making the various tassels dance, “No, sadly I came from an egg, so she never really bestowed that warning.” he said. It was truthful, but nobody on earth was going to believe a truth like that. “What about yours? All American family pushed the stars and stripes a little too hard?”
Of course, leave it to Daisy to stumble upon a weird stranger that seemed convinced he was birthed from an egg. Something about the man’s tone gave Daisy the feeling he was telling the truth, however-- and with her experience in SHIELD and not being completely human herself, she was curious. “So you’re an alien then?” She asked, taking a leap of faith. “Oh, and no-- but my mom used to be the leader of my kind and tried to start a war with the humans, does that count?”
alverlance:
“Nope.” he shrugged, a wry smile on his lips. “Party’s really ain’t my kind of thing anymore. More of a thing I used to do with my buddies - ‘cept we were gatecrashing the parties, not coming to them properly.” his smile grew at the memories of his old friends, friends he’d likely never see again. “So, how come you came to a party if you ain’t a party kind of girl?”
Daisy’s lips quirked upwards in a half-smirk, “Gatecrashing, huh? You don’t seem like the rebellious type.” She brushed a strand of loose hair from her face, tucking it behind her ear, “Well, someone’s gotta make sure this party wasn’t some sort of hoax or sick joke.” Daisy turned towards the dance floor and nodded to a few mutant kids that seemed to be having the time of their life. “Gotta ‘chaperone’ the kids.”
wiccanofwitch:
The night felt a little stale for the mutant. His costume was rather irritating more than it was functional. He also wasn’t old enough to drink and with concerned eyes everywhere, he knew he wasn’t going to get a drink anytime soon. With his attention caught by someone wearing a Cap costume, he couldn't help but stir up a conversation with the other. “Nice costume.” He said with a small smile. “Didn't think I’d see anyone dressed an Avenger.”
“I guess you thought wrong,” Daisy chuckled as she brought the drink to her lips again, “Although I’m a little surprised at the lack of superhero costumes-- they used to be all the rage before this whole SS thing,” she sighed a little, but smiled again as she turned to face Billy. “And what are you supposed to be? Merlin the great wizard?”
fowl-mouthed-coroner:
He stood by, watching a three tiered shot of something white, something yellow, and something orange being shifted toward him. As he downed it, relishing in the burn that went down his throat a rowdy group bumped past him flinging beads and candied bones in every direction.
Donald side-eyed them as one girl giggled and tossed a ridiculous hat on his head. He managed to work up a smile as they stalked off catching the eyes of one of the other party-goers.
“Honest opinion: do I look prepped for the party now?” he asked, gesturing to his new addition.
“PFT-- you look ridiculous, is what you look.” Daisy chuckled and reached up to flick at one of the feathers adorning his hat. “Tell me, did your mama not love you enough to warn you against wearing ostriches on your head?” There was teasing lilt to her voice as she took another swig of her beer.
alverlance:
He’d been keeping himself on the outskirts, watching the party in full swing for almost an hour by that point. When Lance had first received the invitation he’d been doubtful - assuming that it was some kind of manipulation or trap. But g…there was no need to invite him if they knew his current location. So he’d gotten a hold of a shabby suit and cheap contacts and fangs, dressing as halfheartedly as he could. And it seemed to work, standing in the corner alone as he took another swig of his drink.
Daisy had been lingering on the sidelines, silently watching the wild dancing and partying. It was on a whim that she would approach the lone wolf who seemed to be having as much fun as she was while she popped the lid off her fourth beer using her quake. “So I certainly see you’re the life of the party,” she joked, “I’m guessing– hoping actually, that you’re also not much of a party-guy.”
ofasilhouette:
She felt like a princess. though the actual princess outfit hadn’t been as puffy so she had opted for the period dress. She had never gotten the chance to go to a Halloween party, not ever. She’d been so young when she became part of the X-Men then life just started changing and Halloween felt so unimportant. WELL, late is better then never, right? So, she came tot he party, and was pleasantly surprised. then she glanced towards whom was nearest to her. “How do I look?” she was a abit sheepish, in what she wore. Wondering if it looked nice or not.
Daisy hadn’t been paying any attention to the girl next to her until she began speaking-- and had to pause for a moment to catch up to what was going on. “Oh, uh you look fine. Good, you look good.” Daisy kicked back the rest of her beer and deposited it into a nearby trashbin. “Are you supposed to be a Disney princess or something?”
ofclarity:
“Okay, I WILL admit your costume is good.” He said, a smile upon his face.” However, my costume is AMAZING.” Was he bragging? Yes he was. “Look at it!” He even did a twirl. “How could I not be proud?”
“Damn right my costume is good,” Daisy rolled her eyes at the stranger in front of her. “Alright, America’s next top model, mind sharing with the class what you’re supposed to be exactly? An extra from ABC’s show Galavant?”
Although the cheap booze was disgustingly lukewarm, Daisy found herself indulging in her third bottle for the night. Not too interested in dancing or socializing or anything aside from drinking for that matter, she lingered off to the side of the party and itched the spandex of her Captain America costume. Taking the time to check her watch, Daisy crossed her fingers that her friends would hopefully decide to leave sometime soon. Well– they weren’t exactly friends, but like hell she was gonna let them come to this sketchy party alone.
