Collaborative Meta Interactive Documentary
Some of you have expressed an interest in creating some form of interactive documentary. I think youâll find this a really interesting and useful resource:
COME/IN/DOC - Collaborative Meta Interactive Documentary - is a transmedia meta-documentary that reflects on the interactive documentary. It consists of 3 interconnected parts: a documentary series, a multimedia platform and exhibitions.
This is the result of four years of intensive research (2012-2016) conducting interviews with experts in the field of interactive documentary with the aim of answering a basic question: what is an interactive documentary? From this starting point, the idea is to reflect about this emerging field using different platforms. The project could be described as a âmeta-interactive-docâ, an interactive documentary that reflects himself on the new genre trying to answer the questions and hypotheses raised during a period of nearly 10 years of research.

Check out Zombies, Run! for a running app with a much stronger emphasis on storytelling.Â
Another webdoc that explores data + privacy and delivers a personalised experience. This is a fairly experimental project and hasnât been fully developed I think, so you may encounter some glitches. Definitely worth looking at though.
Do Not Track, a personalized web series about privacy and the web economy. Directed by Brett Gaylor, coproduced by Upian, Arte, ONF & BR.

Whatâs it like to spend 23 hours a day in a cell measuring 6x9 feet for days, weeks, months or even years? 6x9 is the Guardianâs first virtual reality experience, placing you inside a US solitary confinement prison cell, and telling the a story of the psychological damage that can ensue from isolation.
This is a good example of how VR is being used in journalism. Click more (on the page this post links to) to explore stories associated with this topic on the Guardian website.

Constant video surveillance, satellite tracking, radio collars⌠sometimes itâs hard to tell where the wired world ends and the wild one begins - Bear 71
This interactive documentary is a few years old now, but it set the standard for non-linear storytelling using a range of different media and techniques including live cams, map-based structure, a timeline and fixed duration and use of data.
For some of them, time has run out. Dive into the lives of some of Ferndale's most beloved characters in this interactive video. Check back each week to find a new hotspot that will give you an exclusive glimpse into the moment that will change everything.
