Juneteenth Celebration Week | Day 3: Favorite Black Led Show → THAT’S SO RAVEN (2003-2007)
Nobody discriminates against my baby. We’re gonna bust ‘em, we’re gonna shut 'em down by any means necessary. Okay, slow your robe, Malcolm. What’s our evidence? Our psychic daughter had a vision? Let’s just drop it. Now wait a minute, I didn’t say give up. Mom, even if they did believe me, I’m just one person. I can’t change the world. Raven, if Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King had the same attitude, we’d still be sitting in the back of the bus. So, what are you guys saying? I can fight this? Absolutely! If this woman is going to admit that she’s a racist, you’ve got to be there to hear her say it.
The Powerpuff Girls S01E09
“I wrote some lyrics, Roger Neill wrote the music. We sort of thought of the lyrics as a placeholder and... none liked them. We tried a couple of things, some variations. Barry Blumberg, who ran Disney TV Animation at the time, wasn’t liking anything we did. I knew Barry liked Wayne Brady, and I know Wayne Brady because I used to do improv with him. So I thought Wayne could do this, because he’s a fantastic singer. He’s a great guy. I did improv with him a few times in the 90s. We were like: “Can you come in and write some lyrics for this?” And he was like: “Yeah, sure!” We recorded it at the Capitol Records Studio. I was like: “This is where actual music gets made.” There were pictures of Frank Sinatra on the wall. As I was walking in I see Wayne in his car scrabbling furiously and I realized: “He is writing the song now, the one that he’s recording in ten minutes.” He had months to work on it, but he showed up like: “Was I supposed to write this thing?” He’s a song improvisor and he’s super good at it so he went in and nailed it instantly. He was great, we all loved it. I knew Barry would like it because he loves Wayne Brady! And he did!” - Doug Langdale (The Weekenders Creator)
Penny was too real
So, she (my mom) said if you don’t talk to Lor about your feelings and her feelings, and that kind of stuff, our whole group is like wrecked.
I found super cute the fact that they sit right next to each other
i love them so much
