Probably my favorite thing is seeing how this series just grew progressively since its inception. To proudly say I've been here since the start of it all, the possibility of not seeing how it ends feels so bad...

So Rooster Teeth is shutting down

My hope is that someone else buys RWBY and keeps the cast and crew and vision of Monty

But know that that is a pipe dream.

I know a lot of people have ignored RWBY because of the hatedom, and I hope the hatedom is happy. You all got what you wanted, so celebrate, I guess.

For me, though, it hurts. RWBY is one of if not my favorite show. It's not perfect, but no show is. I can honestly say every character is a character I could find myself getting invested in. Monty Oum had a beautiful vision, his friends were incredible for trying to see it through even after he passed, and it sucks that this might be how it ends.

The thing I’m trying to keep in mind right now regarding the Rooster Teeth news is this:

RWBY made it nine seasons. Nine. Seasons. Over ten years. For an indie series made by a comparatively small team. That’s more than most big studio shows get.

Even if we never end up seeing the end of it (I’m still holding out hope), even if you never cared about the show or thought it went downhill at some point, you have to admit that that is incredibly admirable.

Monty Oum, Miles Luna and Kerry Shawcross wanted to make a show, and they did. And that little show ended up becoming a whole ass franchise with over a hundred episodes and legions of fans all over the world.

And no matter what, I think that’s worth celebrating.

Rooster Teeth is being shut down and WB is selling RWBY.

So the best we can do is PRAY that whoever gets it keeps the writers, directors, and as much of the CRWBY as possible

So RT is shutting down but Warner is supposedly in talks about selling RWBY so the series isn’t for sure dead but it’s certainly at risk. I hope someone picks it up but I’m also wary of the implementation of an entirely new creative team because I think that would fundamentally change the feel of the show. I’d at least want the core writers of CRWBY back, especially since they knew Monty personality and can continue to respect his vision.
