siirivsblvck:
sirius lying comfortably on the couch, half watching lily pace and half fiddling with the zipper on his jacket. he was one of the few people who were still in a flurry about the events of the night before. sure, obviously, it was terrible and nothing good was going to come next. but stressing out about it didn’t seem to help.
he looked up at her when she spoke, running his fingers through his hair with a sigh. “there isn’t much to do at this point, lily.” he told her, leaning forward. “you just need to keep yourself and harry safe while we figure out our next move.”
lily shot sirius a look as he stretched languidly across the couch. “i don’t see how you can be so calm,” she shook her head. he had always been someone who could shake off... well, anything that the world threw at him. sometimes lily wished that she could be more like that. she exhaled forcefully and moved to sit by him. “it feels like there’s never anything that we can do,” she admitted with a sigh. “like we’re always ten steps behind them.” red hair spilled over her shoulders as she pushed it out of her face. “tell me something meaningless and stupid,” she sighed. “tell me about some dumb prank you lot pulled back in school, or whatever absurd new modifications you’ve no doubt put on your bike since we last saw it.”
