“It is elephants but Matty, Angel cakes, c’mon he’s not going to straight up murder you for this. At least not Steve, Steve’s just stern.” She tried to say but she doesn’t know if it will help him at all. “What will it take for me to say or do to make you stop worrying about this. My next step is to just start making out in the back of this cop car. which I mean if you would prefer...” She says leaving a break in the sentence and a smile on her face cause Piper would definitely start if he kept on.

“Cat sitter booked, new beach wear brought and the weekend off work…. is there anything else I’m forgetting?” Howard Hummed, looking the check list up and down. “I swear to god. I have been working hard on getting my body back to this shape! If no cute guys there even notice I am never going to the beach again.”

“Pretty sure you don’t have to worry about that Howie people are going to be tweeting a hot stark on the beach on twitter no worries,” Piper said as she’s messing around with some part on the floor around her starting to assemble them together. “Did you pack sunscreen? Sunburn is not attractive or comfortable.”

To say the scientist needed a break was an understatement. Bruce spent the last several days mulling over endless streams of data in hopes of a breakthrough. If anyone was going to help Tony, it was going to be him. The world needed Tony Stark, after all. It does not matter how much Tony wants to think otherwise. There were dark circles under his eyes and he constantly rubbed at them as if to rub the bleariness out of them. 

In came Piper and Bruce did not have it in him at that point to shrug it off. “I think that might be a good idea.” he said quietly, almost in dejection as he tore his gaze away from another holo-screen. “I don’t think I’m getting anywhere with this at the rate I’m going.”

Piper smiled she’s been hearing that kind of tone around for a while now. “Exactly, a shower, some food, and a good night's sleep will be good for you, tomorrow you’ll be looking at this with a clear head. Working like this isn’t good for the process of whatever you’re doing.” Piper had an idea of what he was working on but she didn’t know if it was her place to say anything or not. Plus she was sure it wouldn’t help to keep this on their brains when she was trying to get him to relax.

“C’mon, pretty sure FRIDAY has a list of places you like. I’ll order some food and we’ll get you settled.”

“Bonnie and Clyde?” Matty repeated with a snort and shake of his head. He was nervous about being in the back of a police car, but at least the officer was nice and they weren’t really going to be put in a cell. “We can try to call my dad when we get there? He might keep this whole thing a secret from yours. I don’t think he wants either of your dad’s breathing down his neck because of me.” 

“That would be a good idea if it weren’t for the fact that your dad kinda already screwed the pooch with lying to my dad already. I don’t think he needs to be tainting the waters any more than it already has been.” Piper advised. She really didn’t want to put Bruce in that situation for fear that he would damage his relationship with her dad permanently. “Trust me Matty this is going to be fine, you’re not going to be hurt by my dads. This is literally such an innocent little incident that everyone’s going to forget it in a week.”

Piper hadn’t seen Uncle Bruce since the whole summer, and she wasn't sure if that was a good thing. Especially seeing as she was dating Matty right now she thought she would have seen him more, like should they both have dinner with each other's parents or something? Maybe they didn’t need to cause really their fathers were close but weren’t it a courtesy with these things? piper wasn’t really sure, this was her first relationship but regardless Bruce was someone her father really cared for so of course, she did as well. and she hadn’t heard or seen him in a while.

And if there was one place he would be it would be his lab, and what she found was kinda familiar to her. A tired old man who really needed some sleep and something to eat. “Ya know, I kinda see why you and my dad are like thicker than thieves.” She says as she moves further in and examines his desk from afar before promptly walking over to him. “Hey Uncle Bruce, maybe we should head out of there for a while?”

This wasn’t the first time Piper barged in at Nora’s place, and it certainly wouldn’t be the last. “Hey, Nora! Your favorite little sister is here!” She called out. She dropped her bag off at the door as she walked in. “Nora are you asleep? Don’t make me come in your room...actually.” She said that the last line a lot more deviously then she meant but if Nora was still asleep Piper was not above pranking her.

“If you’re keeping me from enjoying twin telepathy Gid that’s rude, imagine all we could be doing with it!” Piper had all kinds of possibilities running through her head. Most of them just concerning how much they could get away with if they had a power like that. But when Gid said he was coming to her room Piper lit up in an instant, “Right, I’ll go back to barging in whenever I want.” She said grabbing Gid’s hand like she always did and pulled him along to her door but left him at the opening to ump on her bed and start moving things around. She ended up tossing a few tools out of the bed she didn’t know was there, she should really start putting these away she thinks to herself. “Okay, I think the bed is safe now.”

Matty gave her a look briefly before sighing. “Yeah, I guess. Just… worried, I don’t want them thinking me being your boyfriend is a bad thing. I mean – I – I never get in trouble and now –” he paused as the police officer knocked on the window. He rolled it down and handed over the insurance, then began explaining he had no license once more.

Piper tried to be more comforting then she had been and held Matty’s hand as he and the police officer exchanged words. Sadly the result was as they feared, and pretty soon they were put in the back of a police car on the way to the station where they would call their parents. But not letting the fact they were in front of a police official deter her Piper lopped her arm with Matty’s held his hand and leaned into him. “For what its worth still no the worst thing a Stark has been in a cop care for. Let’s just enjoy the ride together, I mean yeah not particularly romantic but I mean we can totally work in a Bonnie and Clyde feel with some imagination if we really need to.”

Matty pulled over as she suggested, his hands loosening a bit off the wheel. “The station? God, my grandpa is going to kill me,” he groaned mostly to himself. “Your dad is going to kill me. Like… both of them. Oh man, I can’t even say to call one and not the other because they both know how to get away with murder.” 

“Not if you tell him you were trying to impress a pretty girl. You’re a young guy who's trying to impress the girl you like, he’ll totally know what that’s like.” Piper’s hand went to rubbing his shoulder hoping to make him less tense. “You have such a wild and panicked imagination, Matty. They aren’t going to kill you. ...maybe Daddy might but Pops won’t. No, you’ll have to deal with his lecturing and I’ll make sure I get ahold of him before I get anyone else.”

Matty gripped the wheel, watching out of his mirror as the cop out of the car. “I don’t – I don’t know! I just… you wanted to go out to eat and – and I wanted to take you somewhere special. I’ve been driving before! I – I mean, I went this far before, I never got pulled over. I didn’t do anything wrong,” he insisted. 

Piper raised an eyebrow at the boy but decided to take some pity on him, after all, he was trying to do something sweet. She took a deep breath then gave Matty a small smile as she reached over and put her hand on his whihc were now gripping the steering wheel. “Alright lover boy, just pull over and ease up okay? We’ll let the police officer do his job and just have a nice ride down to the station.” Her smile got bigger. “Besides, your punishment for this is I’m gonna have to call one of my dad’s, and this is how you meet them.”

Victoria: I'm coming home but only to pack some stuff to take to Howie's. You can think it's a bad idea all you want, hell tell Steve if you must, but I know what dad said and I'm respecting his wishes

Piper: Okay him telling you that is not going to happen, at least not without some push and pull okay, I will work on that

Piper: But this isn't a good idea!

Piper: I'll be home when you do get here and we'll sort this out this isn't what it Dad may have made it out to be, we have to stick together as a family!

Piper: I like to think this is more pre-planned than any of you think but I already know no one's going to listen to me so that's pointless
