Welcome to Pygmalion Theory!
What is this blog? What's Pygmalion Theory????
Pygmalion Theory is what I like to call "a story of indeterminate medium." Which means I have a lot of ideas for a project but only have vague ideas about what form it will take in the end. At the moment, what does exist of PT isn’t much more than a bunch of disconnected thoughts strewn about various different places. This blog is an attempt to change that. Though I have a lot of story stored up in my brain, I don’t know how exactly I want to tell it or when that’s going to happen (if it happens at all). Thus! The creation of a blog documenting what does exist of this project and my many rambling thoughts about the whole process. I hope to make interacting with this whole thing a lot easier and allow people to get a more complete sense of what's going on.
Ok but what's Pygmalion Theory about?
Haha! Funny question. It's about a lot of things, as most stories tend to be, but the sort of elevator pitch I've been going with is that it's like one of those kids movies where all of the Halloween monsters are actually real except I've thought way too hard about about how everything works.
The story mainly follows Emmett Livingston, an undead monster constructed in a similar way to Frankenstein's monster, from the moment of their reanimation and through the months and years after. There's also a fairly large cast of supporting characters who all have their own backstories that usually happen before Emmett's around.
PT takes place ~2015-2016 in a fictional town in Colorado (US) in a world generally similar to our own. Though there are some strong themes around science throughout, magic is also a thing.
In terms of general trigger warnings, PT is fairly chill and SFW, but as you can guess death is discussed pretty frequently and regularly. One of the main characters is a zombie, so cartoon gore will be frequent, and Emmett himself can do the classic taking off limbs thing so mild body horror/dismemberment will also be common. Anything worse than that I'll try to tag.
What now?
Those are all of the basics! Anything else should be easily found just on the blog or via the Neocities site.
