Posh pics of my Phoenix Lord conversions for my Matriarchal craftworld. Really pleased how they came out.
The new Phoenix Lords are looooong overdue, and models look nice, but I think I am not gonna be changing my Baharroth or Asurmen anytime soon.

Lord Summisle and the boys on their annual bonfire outing.
I painted these for Zoë's birthday as she is #1 Wicker man fan! The models are from @hobbs Lane Models
Some better offers pics of this one. Loved painting this model.
Because of my ridiculous tartan scheme I had to paint this entirely in sub assembly, but she has turned out ok this far. Still some finishing and tidying to do, plus the base of course.
It was this figure that I really wanted to paint. I love the faux medieval-Catholic look the Sororitas have and I really enjoyed the process.
Ever get bored of those Joan of Arc bowl cuts? I do, so went all 18th century vibes with this one.
Battle sisters update. First five complete and based!
More bloody tartan 😂. Some process shots where you can see how the oil wash and AK Streaking Grime brings the grimdark.
Painted another corpse fanatic today, so captured the process if some of you were interested. Yes, I still need to finish the base.
1. Base coat in scarlet/ rhinox hide mix
2. Black / khorne red stripes
3. As before, but make a lattice.
4. In the cross sections paint a black square.
5. A thin line vertical of Averland Sunset and white. I do this a bit bold, don't worry we'll knock em back in a bit.
6. As before, but horizontal
7. Using black, create a thin lattice in the scarlet boxes, vertical and horizontal.
8. Get brave. Apply a coat of matt varnish. Let it dry and cover in AK Streaking Grime. Let this dry and with a brush and white spirit brush to the bottom of the model.
9. Apply an oil wash of black and brown. As before let dry and dab off.
You're done. Add pigments if you like for extra dirt.
Full credit, I adapted my process on this tutorial by @kujopainting
Almost done on this McQueen inspired battle sister, and ready to start thinking about the rest of the squad. I have some finishing and tidying to do and of course the base.
I also debated whether to cover it all in AK streaking grime and an oil wash ... Which I did for that more worn, grimdark look these fanatical devotees require.
WIP. Something completely different. Lots still to do and work out, and I need to think about how heavy I go with the oil washes so as not to lose the tartan.
Alexander McQueen inspired Adepta Sororitas.
Here's how I am thinking about these god-emperor fantics and the look I want to try and cultivate.
I also wanted to make them wholly different to my Aeldari. I think the AS are the embodiment of the grimdark imperium, so want to capture some of that.
I-
I can't even imagine the amount of time it took to paint that. That's crazy how good that looks. Holy shit.
Just. Wow.
Bolter lassies!
Used some transfers, of course, or just really patient with the airbrush and tape.
The idea is original, at least, so consider me interested.
It's all brushwork, no transfers here!! This was the tutorial I watched and then adapted for my McQueen tartan.

Still a bit in love with my baharroth wings and gems.
Squad goals, family album. A grimdark fruit salad. I still have the fate dealer to do at some stage...
Queen of the Corsairs and their Soul Weaver.
I painted this gal a few months back, but did not like how the arms covered the torso hiding the gems, belts and wot not. So swapped out the arms with some spared from the guardian bits box.
Bought me 2 metal Warlocks. First metals I have bought since the 80s, but they still look so cool.
