Pyre Of Your Pride is a Lego Monkie Kid Fancomic taking place after Season 5! It is for the most part canon compliant! It will focus on the Demon Bull Family, Mei, and Nezha-- along with Mk of course. This all said though, the comic is VERY Redson Centric. Most of the comic should be 13+ friendly, however there will be some content later on that is a bit heavy and gorey, so I would like to label this as a 16+ comic overall. These posts will be tagged with warnings! I will be taking inspiration from Journey to the West for any villains I add in, along with some of the events that will take place!

What ships do you plan on including/excluding? :3

I don't want to spoil eeeeverything. So. I'm going to give a limited answer on this one. Freenoodles will be there for sure. My Mei is a Lesbian, so she isn't gonna get a ship in this comic. (Tragically all the lovely women in LMK are way too old for Mei and/or married and/or dead.) There IS going to be a primary ship, and it's not Freenoodles. I just feel like Freenoodles is a given and MUST be included. It's dubiously canon at this point anyway in my opinion. They're queer coded to hell and back. And there's a second ship I haven't decided whether I will include it or not yet. Even if I do "include it", it will likely be a bit more complicated and not fully resolve by the end of the comic's plot. Oh, and Irondumpling will obviously be as real as it is in canon. I'm not tearing those two apart. I'm not a monster.

I wanted to ask. Is your comic gonna include jttw lore? Or will it be as close to canon as possible?

It's technically canon that guanyin did help wukong defeat red boy in lmk (but like, it was only mentioned once, and the timeline doesn't really make sense...) so I wanted to know if you will try to incorporate that into your comic? Or nah?

And if not, I'm still rlly excited to see it :)). Goated art btw

Hi there!! My comic will use Journey to the West to fill in gaps in LMK canon, but my comic will not be changing anything as is from LMK. (For example, Dbk was still definitely trapped under a mountain and did not cheat on his wife.) I also will be taking villains and some inspiration for certain plot points from Journey to the West. While I love Journey to the West, there is a LOT of incongruity between it and the Monkie Kid Timeline. Redson was an infant, probably born DURING the journey, rather than being able to plot and talk like in Journey to the West. So Wukong and Him didn't really have a battle so much as what we know of the ritual that was done on Redson to remove the flame. Guanyin will make an appearance in my comic at some point though, I will say that! TLDR; Yes. It will include some JTTW lore, but I am not rewriting the entire background of the show that has been given to us, I'm only adding onto it.

What is your AU about?

I don't want to spoil much, so I'm not going to give much detail. My pinned post has a little introduction. What I WILL say is that the comic will have moments for the Samadhi Fire, Mei's Dragon Ancestry, and Demon Bull Family Past.

I think this question may sound overrated. But will baby redson ever appear in your comics?

As a memory, probably!! Young Redson will most certainly be shown at some point. (In a way he already has.... sort of.) But there might be a little bit of memory with teensy baby Redson. Even if Baby Redson memories don't make it into the comic proper, I do have some art of TinySon that I could post at some point. (:

Now for a random ass question, will we see some of Mei and Red Son's duo dynamic? I know it's more of a dbk family focused comic, but it would be cool to see that!

Hi!! Thank you!! (: You're very kind. I don't want to answer in too much detail because I don't want to be dropping spoilers, haha. But, yes! There will be some focus on the dynamic between Red Son and Mei. It will not be dragonfruit, I will say that. But they will have a focus on the relationship between them! And I promise you I have no plans to abandon this. I've been planning on doing this for about a year now and am finally getting to a point where I think I can do it.
