there’s a time in every operative’s life when everything seems a bit more beautiful. it has to be. it has to be beautiful to be manageable. otherwise one would go insane. bruises start to look like galaxies. blood starts to look like spilled ink. the sound of a bullet leaving the gun sounds like a harp string, the sound of an explosion the crash of a cymbal.  the feeling of the blade against one’s skin feels like a caress. and a punch to the throat is a kiss. the pain becomes welcome, after a while. pain means they’re alive. pain means that they’re doing their job. what they’ve been asked to do.  he’s lost count of the agents that come through his doors beat to shit but beaming, high on the adrenaline that’s coursing through their veins like it’s the best drug on the black market.  there might be galaxies on their flesh, ink spilling over their skin. their ears are filled with the sounds of a symphony.  it has to be beautiful to be manageable. otherwise one would go insane. or perhaps they already are.

Looking at the Quartermasters screen, Merlin knew that Q was one of 7 other people able to write code like himself however he didn’t like seeing his inventory displayed on an Mi6 computer “You cheeky monkey, I will let it slide this once that you are delving into my systems, however the next time I wont be as kind as Silvas was to your antiquated system.” looking over his glasses  “You could ask for help, and we could simply chat over some tea”

“That we could,” Q replies. “But without hacking into your system, you wouldn’t have offered that, now would you?” He smirks. “I need less help, and more inspiration. Bond seems to think that my technology, while thriving in security, is lacking in creativity. He drools over the idea of a bulletproof umbrella, for Gods sake.”
