“I would be lying if I said the temptation wasn’t strong.” Archie wasn’t a womanizer, at least he had never considered himself to be one. But he would be lying if were to say he didn’t tend to get distracted once in a while by a pretty face. He was at that age, that everything with a short skirt got him going. Despite his way, he was truly messing with the blonde. Walking home with her and spending some time with his next-door neighbour seemed like the perfect way to spend his afternoon. “Practice was good, nothing special happened really.” Except for that fact that was considering dropping out. Football was something he loved, and a great way to bond with his father but he wanted to place all his focus in his true passion. music. That was something Archie had no intenion of telling anyone not until he was sure of his choice. “How was your day? What exciting thing happened in the life of Betty Cooper?” 

(¸.• ♛ → Betty rolled her eyes but knowing he was just teasing her of course, the blonde nudged him gently at him with a small smile on her lips “Funny” But she knew how Archie was and he wasn’t exactly someone that goes around with girls or she was hoping that, she didn’t want to be jealous over that “I’m glad, you love that after all” And she was glad that he does what he likes, what he loves, it was always a very good thing “Not much exciting as yours, I bet. Uhm, I had practice too with the cheerleading team, was good if I ignore everything that Cheryl says but besides was good” They never were going to get along and mostly Betty just knows how to ignore her, even if she has to press hard her nails against her palms to not snap at her. But she loves wearing her cheerleading uniform and all, the only bad thing besides Cheryl was her mom “But between us, I’m not really excited to go to my house and bump into my mom, she wasn’t happy about this”

There was a noticeable smile that made it clear he was happy to see the girl he had grown with and considered to be one of his best friends. He stood in place only moving forward once she once close enough light brown hues taken the other in. “Hey, Betty.” The redhead greeted the other nodding at her question before actually replying out loud. “I don’t know, I was planning on walking with this other blonde but I think you might be a better offer so sure.” He teased casually. 

(¸.• ♛ → Archie was her best friend since childhood but she likes him very much, like really likes him and she didn’t know what to do about those feelings, part of her thought that maybe it was a crush but other part of her didn’t think like that “I’m glad you didn’t leave with the other blonde” She says with a small smile, also teasing back, now starting walking next to the redhead “So, how was practice?” She asked, obviously about football, after all, she always was interested in what Archie does, his passions like music, football and also just a lot of things more.

(¸.• ♛ → “Archie” She called her friend that was there, the blonde approached to him so maybe he could walk with her to home like always and she would be lying if she says that she didn’t feel anything for him but she was now trying to hide any feelings, at least for now “You want to walk together?”

But I don’t feel that way about you.” This time he had pulled away not wanting to give the girl mix signals. God, she was indeed perfect, and he had seen a very different side of her which left him in awe for a moment. Still, here he stood and he couldn’t feel any of those sparks he was meant to feel. “Maybe it is a mistake but is my mistake to make. But I think we have spoken enough of this subject. I am not planning on changing my mind. What I will say is how sorry I am for hurting you. If I would have known you felt this way I would have been more aware of the way I act with other girls around you.”

The hand against his chest made him look down before a word could leave him her lips had touched his, not an action he had expected from Betty Cooper. He had heard it all, oh one day you two will fall in love. The typical love story between friends. Expect in this story he didn’t feel the same, that is what he believed at the moment. He didn’t pull away right away, not being sure it if was because he was surprised or he was actually into it. Reality had set in and he moved backwards trying to choose the right words that wouldn’t hurt her. It seemed he had done enough of that. “Betty…you shouldn’t have done that.” 

(¸.• ♛ → She knew that she only did that because she was too drunk to think and this was the only way to show how she was feeling at the moment, obviously. When he pulled away a bit, the girl looked at him trying to focus her look on the other one “Why not? Finally I am brave enough to do it” She muttered, even if that being brave was because of those drinks “I’m sorry...it wasn’t your fault, it was mine. I still think what you have with that woman is a mistake, not because of this but because the legal things and you know I was going to bring that up eventually” She said with her gaze on him, didn’t care if they were really that close at this point “If you were with a girl from our school, I would be hurt yes but it would pass....it always pass” Or at least she was hoping that, but she knew that maybe all of this was going to stay there forever.

“So what if I get hurt? It happens all the time, people fall in love and it doesn’t always work out that’s how life works.  If I get my heart broken so be it but I won’t stop myself from going after what I want out of fear.” Archie had believed he would have a break from this argument but here he stood in the middle of the street having the same damn fight with her. Why couldn’t she just let it go and accept it? He was tired beyond tired and now all he wanted was to be home, back in his own bedroom where he could hide from the world. “What are you talking about?” Okay now he was lost on what she meant, for once he wished she would speak clearly and say what has been truly bothering her. 

(¸.• ♛ → People get hurt all the time, she knows that very well because even if he didn’t know, she was getting hurt all the time when she sees Archie kissing someone else or being with someone else like he was doing it now “Yeah but I would always try to avoid that for you” Because she also wanted him to be safe from that, she cares too much that was her problem but now she didn’t care, right now she was going to do what she wanted, now the girl approached him with clumsy steps but still and placed a hand on Archie’s chest, without saying anything, Betty with courage press her lips against his.

This time he had stopped in the middle of the road, placing her down so she was now standing before him. “Okay, why does it bother you this much that I have feelings for a Miss Grundy? This goes beyond being worried about a best friend.” This wasn’t normal, Archie knew she cared about his well being but she was going to a whole other level. Was she trying to prove a point? Did she think reversing the situations would make him react? Well it didn’t, he his hear wanted who it wanted and he had zero control over it. “I’ll respect it when you start respecting my choices and staying the hell out of my personal life.” 

(¸.• ♛ → Now that her feets were touching the ground, the girl almost lose the balance but she kept firm in her place or trying to, the girl looked at him, the alcohol was making her talking about everything and she wasn’t sure if she was going to be able to stop it “You are right, I mean, I am worried as a person because you can get hurt but also...I’m annoyed, beyond annoyed” She said now speaking out loud, the alcohol was going to make her say things that she might regret “You can be so smart for some things but so idiot for another things, why you don’t see what’s in front of you for once, Archie?”

“You’re unbelievable.”  His words fail to match his tone, but the annoyance was clear over his features which he was sure she could see with her current position. “You get mad at me for having actual feelings for someone but then you turn around and strip for a bunch of older men?” Did she not sense the hypocrisy? Now more than ever she had no right to judge him for his personal romantic choices.

Sweet and seductive words in your ear?” She muttered almost in a whisper but loud enough for him to hear “Hey, maybe I want to find that love too, who knows, how do you feel if I ever hook up with an older man? You would respect that?” She asked, knowing herself and she wouldn’t do that because she hasn’t even have like anything with anyone for start but that was just a question for him to think.

“Is this how you’ve been spending your days here?” He wasn’t going to stand here and gawk as the others have been in this bar. No, he cared too much for his friend to allow her to make a fool out of herself in this manner. Without a word, he had reached out and grabbed her hand pulling her down so she ended up over his shoulder. “I am taking you home right now.” It wasn’t a question, seeing as he had no intentions of arguing or even taking no for an answer. 

(¸.• ♛ → A small gasp of surprise escaped from her lips when now she was over Archie’s shoulder “Hey” Betty complained now, okay, this was not fair, he can have some fun but she can’t? Because she was a girl? Oh no, of course not “Archie, put me down. I’m just having some fun, you know all about that, right? Or you are really going to rain on my parade?” She muttered even if now her words were slut mostly, she was just trying to speak slowly but tipsy Betty of course.

This wasn’t the innocent girl he had grew next to, the one who would beg him to eat the heads of the gummy bears for the simple reason that she didn’t want to be the one to cause them harm. Why was she doing this? Had their argument driven her to pull such an act? “Take it off!” The older male next to him had yelled which caused a rage inside the redhead. Grabbing the male from his collar he had pulled him closer. “I suggest you shut the hell up.” Pushing the other towards a crowd of other men now staring at Betty like predators waiting to attack their prey. Moving forward he had stopped before her yet he froze. Brown hues had taken every part of her in, seeing a different side he hadn’t before. Why hadn’t he ever noticed her long legs?  Or her pouty lips, or the way her blonde locks framed her perfect features? No this was Betty, sweet Betty that’s all she was.

If she was sober, she would be blushing and embarras about this whole thing but no, she wasn’t sober and she could care less now what he thinks, a small laugh escaped from her ips now looking down at him “Are you going to get up and dance, little Archie? If not you can turn around, you are blocking the view” Of course she was taking without taking into consideration that this was Archie Andrews, God, Archie, she wanted him to get up and just dance with her and maybe seeing her as more than just some innocent girl.

His choices were very limited, he had explored the town trying his best to find somewhere to go but he didn’t have much in his pocket maybe enough for a cheap motel which he had yet to find. Instead, he found himself standing outside a bar,  did he want to waste the money on drinks? No, but fuck it he needed to let out some tension. All he wanted was his best friend to be at his side and she couldn’t even give him that. Sitting at one of the tables in the back, a line of glasses covering the table he had looked down at his phone staring at a picture of Miss Grundy. God, he missed her more than ever. “Why couldn’t you be here?” He muttered probably looking a bit pitiful. The night seemed to be picking up as he heard a couple of cheers, rolling his eyes he had turned his head to see what the commotion was. A blonde now dancing at the bar, for a moment he had forgotten about his precious teacher. All he saw was the figure moving sensually and his gaze had been locked at her every curve. Standing up he had decided to join the crowd his eyes never leaving the stranger. Taking his bottom lip between his teeth he was sure he was staring at her with the same desire everyone else was. The second he caught a glimpse of her face he had frowned, no this couldn’t be. Archie was currently watching her best friend and he went from the horny teenager as she had called him to the over-protective best friend. 

(¸.• ♛ → She closed her eyes, allowing the music to just guide her because for her that was the best and with all the alcohol now was something that she just wanted and needed. Now she was slowly taking her shirt off, slowly of course, every guy was the same always like that, she could hear how they were watching her and she didn’t care. Maybe that was the part of her that wanted to let go and that was all, it was a dance in the table like many girls were doing and this side of Betty was something that usually she never does, unless she feels like it, like today, of course, she was feeling to be seductive and just stop for a second to be herself, being herself is something that she didn’t want to be, not now. It’s been a long day and she just wanted this night to be just fun. Now grabbing the stick that was there in the bar and it was basically a pole dance, it was just fun.

(¸.• ♛ → After her fight with Archie she was for like an hour in her bed, crying her eyes out because all of this was too much but she decided that enough is enough, ie he can live that life, why can’t she? Yeah, she was going to do the exact same thing. Right now Betty burshed her hair, not ponytale just straight hair and put a new shirt and a skirt, perfect. She painted her lips red and now was ready. She got out from the apartment until finally she was in that pub, the girl was there like ten minutes and already was feeling tipsy, she wasn’t someone that has high tolerance with alcohol and now she was dancing like some of those girls now just having fun on top of those tables, she can be sexy too, only that Archie never saw that side of her, the darkness inside her but she just couldn’t help it, right now she just waned to forget what she saw in that phone.

Right now all he wanted was to be swallowed whole, to vanish from this situation and hideaway. Disappointing her was the last thing he ever wanted to do and it was clear that she had lost respect for his decisions. He hated it, but he couldn’t take any of it back, even if he could he wouldn’t. There wasn’t one moment about his relationship with the teacher that he had regretted. “I know we do…but I couldn’t tell you this wasn’t just my secret to share.” He had decided it was best not to go into details about his personal affairs, she didn’t want to hear them and there were his private moments. “Are you planning on telling them? Betty, you can’t, do you have any idea what would happen to her if anyone finds out? You know how our town is they would have a field day with this. You can’t and you won’t tell anyone if you’re really my best friend you have to keep this between us or I swear I’ll never speak to you again.” It was the heat of the moment, his desperate way to keep her from telling others. It was the last thing he wanted to end his friendship with her but could he forgive her for outing him this way? “I am going to stop you right there, she’s not like that. Yes, when we started it was just physical but something tells me she might feel the same way. Please Betty, just stay the hell out of it.”

She was hurt and now she didn’t know what to think anymore, the girl felt a tear rolling down on one of her cheeks but quickly she clearned that up “So now you are threaten me? Because of her? I don’t know....I want to help you because you are not seeing things clearly” She muttered and turned around to just not look at him “Go to your room, I will think about it just go to your room, Archie, we’ll talk about this when we are calm” Even if her heart was breaking and she honestly wanted him to be gone so she could cry in silence “Please just...I can’t right now”

“Again you had no damn right to read any of those!” Why didn’t she stop? Why did she allow her curious ways get the best of her, better yet why didn’t he take his phone with him. Either way, there was no turning back time now, the cat was out of the bag. “You can’t judge her and not judge me, it takes two you know?!” She wanted him just as much as he wanted her, maybe he had allowed his physical needs cloud his mind, though there was no doubt that the two had something special. Maybe she wasn’t aware of it yet but something told him that he could have something more with her. Placing his hands over his face to avoid getting hit now taking steps back, okay this was getting ridiculous. “Stop it! I am not as naive as everyone thinks I am, I wanted to be with her she didn’t force me. I don’t care about the cases you have seen things are different with her. If you really want to know, I kissed her first. She told me it was wrong, she pushed me away but I insisted and things happened.” It wasn’t a complete lie, Grundy had started with little smiles here and there making comments his way. Sometimes brushing her hands against his arm or his back. Even taking the daring moves to stand close to him leaving no space between the two. Being who he was he had moved in for the kiss. The two didn’t speak for a week before he went searching for her once more, that night he had given her everything. “Age doesn’t make a difference, I know what I feel Betty and I like her and the second I leave this damn island I am going to tell her just that. I want her, and I won’t let you get in the way of that, I am sorry I love you but you have to let me be happy and she makes me happy. I don’t want any girls my age, I know who I want.” 

(¸.• ♛ → Now she was feeling her eyes being watery for everything that he was saying and how he has feelings for that woman but she couldn’t just tell him how she  feels when he’s thinking about someone else like that “I didn’t meant that, I didn’t know you were hiding something, usually we tell each other everything or I thought that...” She muttered now, not looking at him this time and placed her pillow back in the bed, not really with energy of hitting again. This time Betty covered her ears and closed her eyes “I don’t want to hear it !” And she didn’t want to hear that because it breaks her heart in million pieces and he wasn’t even aware of that. She uncovered her ears and opened her eyes to look at him “You don’t know a thing, please, think everything, Arch, she’s not right for you, she’s....a woman that makes a move with a student, is a bad one, bad news, what do you think your dad is going to think about it? Or...well, no, your friends no because I know them and they wouldn’t mind because they are guys but what about the others in the school? The principal? Everyone? You are smart, you need to realize that all of thisis just wrong and....you can’t have this, this feelings are not real, is an illusion, she’s not a good person, why you can’t realize that? And how do you know that you are the first student that she hooked up with? There is more I bet”

“How much did you read exactly?!” Maybe it was a mistake if the roles would have been reversed he would have done the same thing. He knew it was wrong, but he couldn’t help how he felt. It all started off as an affair but he was starting to feel something more. “You don’t get it, you don’t get to judge me before knowing all of the details.” Which he wasn’t sure he wanted to spill, so far things had only been physical between the two, they have never spoken about their feelings. Archie wasn’t even sure if she had felt something for him. “Is not a big deal, yes Miss Grundy and I have been seeing each other but….I like her….okay?? I really like her and I think I might want something more.” This was the first time he had said the words out loud, he had hoped it would have been to Grundy herself but no here he stood admitting his feelings for another woman to his best friend.  “I wasn’t thinking, it started off as some simple music lessons and things escalated. But I made the first move okay? Not her.” That was a lie, but he couldn’t let her look bad towards others. It all started with simple touches here and there and before he knew it the two were having an affair.

I saw even pics that I wish to erase from my memory” She said, shaking her head, of course Betty wasn’t approving that and not just because of her feeling for the redhead was because this was wrong “I’m not judging you, I’m judging her” She muttered and now when he said that, feelings and he made the first move and all of that, the blonde couldn’t help it and grabbed her pillow and began to hit him with that even if it was softly but still, while she was speaking “Feelings? She’s an adult, you are underage, you are being stupid and naive and she’s taking advantage of you” She said and stopped hitting him with the pillow to look at him “You made the first move? I don’t believe that, sorry but I’ve seen cases and honestly, this is something that she can go into jail because she’s sleeping with a minor and you are too good, too naive as well that you don’t realize that, wake up, you will get hurt” She hit him with the pillow one more time “You are crazy if you think that this is love or that you have feelings for her, she basically is seducing you and you are falling for it like a horny teenager, well, obviously you are that but why not with girls around our age? Why an older woman?”

The impact of his phone hitting his chest wasn’t something he had expected, neither was the look Betty had in her eyes. Oh, she wasn’t happy at all. What had happened while he was in the bathroom?? Soon he had gotten his answer when she mentioned last summer. “Yes I think we established that….but..” Before he could finish she had left him mid-sentence and now he was the one getting annoyed. “What the hell Betty?” Staring down he had noticed his screen, messages he had exchanged with Grundy some being very explicit. No, no, no she couldn’t have seen those. “You went through my phone!” It wasn’t a question it was clear this was the reason why she was upset with him. He wasn’t going to let this sit, barging into her bedroom he didn't hesitate to tell her how he felt about her invading his privacy. “You shouldn’t have read my messages you know? I don’t go through your personal stuff.” 

(¸.• ♛ → Betty crossed her arms, no, she wasn’t going to cry but she was mad and irritated by Archie’s naive way of doing things or stupid because yes right now he’s being stupid. Of course that the blonde was expecting to just be there in her room why she was into his phone but it wasn’t her fault, okay maybe it was a bit but come on, she was curious about that message he recieved “Okay, fine, maybe I did wrong by doing that but the phone just rang and I thought it was important, maybe a way to communicate outside the island but no, it was an old message from yesterdday...and I thought maybe I read that out of context because my Archie, my friend, he wouldn’t be so stupid to do something like this, right? But now we know I was wrong” She speaks like that when she’s angry and boy she was furious “So, you were hooking up with Mrs. Robinson, uh? Honestly, Archie, what the hell are you thinking’?!”

Archie’s clothing was now scattered over her bathroom floor he now stood under the water, eyes fallen closed allowing himself to enjoy the sensation. He hadn’t realized how much he truly needed this moment. Tempted to stay a little longer he had reached for the soap, surely he smelled like seaweed seeing as he did jump into the ocean. Taking his time, he had finally turned off the shower getting out now reaching for his clothing. He had nothing else but the clothes he had come with. Stepping out he had headed towards the hallway now searching for the blonde. “Betty?” He had called out daring to take a peek into her room. 

(¸.• ♛ → When Archie called her, the girl stepped outside from her room and approached him now placing in almost a very abrupt way his phone in his chest “So, I know what you did last summer now, Archie, how nice you were studying music” She said now turning around and going into her room once again, honestly she was mad but also jealous because why her? And why Archie was so damn naive to not realize that the woman was clearly taking advantage of him.
