It’s always funny to me when I point out how Arthur's reaction to Merlin's magic proved that Merlin was valid in keeping his secret and people are like ‘Arthur has never seen the good of magic. How did you expect him to react?’ As if Gwen, who has ACTUALLY very few moments where magic did her any good, didn’t have the literal response of “I’m pleased” when she figured it out.

I've had an idea for a fic where married Merthur gets sent back in time with Merlin being genderfluid and currently presenting fem, using magic to alter her appearance into a female form. Everyone they interact with assumes that fem Merlin is a foreign princess Arthur marries and she plays along so as to not give away her identity and the fact she's magic.
I love the thought of Past Arthur picking up on small things that should clue him into the fact that his future wife is actually Merlin and then he just doesn't.
Past Arthur: What perfume is that? The scent seems familiar.
Fem Merlin: I don't use perfume. I do work with herbs quite often though, I'm a fully trained physician.
Past Arthur: Hmm, maybe it's something I remember from Gaius's chambers.
Fem Merlin: *looks at past Merlin* Yes I'm sure something similar has been in Gaius's chambers before

Phil Coulson has the most aura ever actually. Y'know that scene in Infinity War where Nomad Steve first appears, when he catches the weapon and steps out of the shadows all sexily while the music swells? Yeah Coulson has that much aura in just his left pinky
In keeping with being high-key buckled in to comfort show mode, I’m rewatching Agents of Shield and the original ending (season 5) did a great job of pulling in all the elements from previous seasons, tracking it back to gravitonium from episode goddamn three, wrapping up the Coulson storyline etc. The one thing that didn’t get covered was where the obelisks originally came from but that wasn’t, y’know, an answer we really needed for the show to feel complete.
And then we got the answer to that question, and one more season besides and since everything was wrapped up already, they instead spent a season not wrapping up the plot line but, like, fully breaking down the answer at the core concept of the show: What does it mean to be an Agent of Shield? And it ended up having a different answer for all of the characters, and in meaningful character growth arcs for all of them, and I just really love this show, as silly as it sometimes is
My favorite thing so far about agents of shield is that every time grant ward shows up I say "God when is someone gonna kill this dude" and then the next scene is the protagonists all going "God when can we kill this dude" and the solidarity I feel with these fictional characters is real
it’s a head cannon of mine that Merlin would develop grey hairs over the course of his time saving Arthur’s ass every other weekday. That boy literally had the weight of the word on his shoulders with barely anyone to help him shoulder that burden. My boy was getting some greys. BUT. Imagine Arthur notices this one day, perhaps the light catches it just right. That man would absolutely go to pieces. He would try to stay calm on the outside and just be like “what the hell is that, Merlin?”, but internally he is doing backflips trying to piece together what is making Merlin grow greys. Ultimately Merlin just blows it off as genetics, but Arthur doesn’t buy it for a second and slowly starts weening away Merlin’s more impractical chores (he may be an idiot sometimes, but he’s not that oblivious).
