watching the other bennet sister. very easy-going watch, with notable exception of the fuckass red dress they keep dressing poor mary in. why. WHY.
in my mind and heart hank and clementine have a very nancy and sluggo dynamic.
hank and clementine core #tome
this is one of the main ones i was thinking of when i made this post but i couldn't find it but now i've got it <3
crack the egg of sympathy and make the omelette of compassion
6 hour workday maximum i’m not kidding, if it can’t be done in that timeframe it doesn’t need doing.
this doesn't apply to jobs like childcare
If i worked in childcare and my 6 hours were up i would start putting babies in ziploc bags and shipping them to Turkmenistan listed as endangered fruits and vegetables
mike flanagan's what if the world was made out of pudding cinematic universe
desperately running around [redacted] neighborhood failing to find her and I NEEEEED her. Tonight.

i actually dont think eddie is like a metal purist or hugely pretentious abt music btw i mean im sure he is pretentious abt music to some degree but i think more than anything he is a lover of metal not a hater of Literally Everything Else. like i dont think he would whine and kick and scream if something else were on unless it was seriously some bullshit like objectively banal poppy mainstream stuff ew conformity etc. but also he is a major ragebaiter so maybe hed be annoying about anything just to be annoying. actually i know he would be annoying about anything just to be annoying but thats beside the point
before there were blorbos there were little meow meows and before there were little meow meows there were cinnamon rolls
and smol beans.
i have to kill this post because people keep trying to explain the difference between blorbos and little meow meows and smol beans and cinnamon rolls to me . man i literally don't ca(opens my trench coat revealing a bomb strapped to my chest) EVERYONE GET ON THE GROUND NOW. GET ON THE GROUND.
listening to the death of Hal 9000 in the audiobook 2001: A Space Odyssey and i'm sad about this actually
"He had begun to make mistakes, although, like a neurotic who could not observe his own symptoms, he would have denied it. The link with Earth, over which his performance was continually monitored, had become the voice of a conscience he could no longer fully obey. But that he would deliberately attempt to break that link was something that he would never admit, even to himself. Yet this was still a relatively minor problem; he might have handled it - as most men handle their own neuroses - if he had not been faced with a crisis that challenged his very existence. He had been threatened with disconnection; he would be deprived of all his inputs, and thrown into an unimaginable state of unconsciousness. To Hal, this was the equivalent of Death. For he had never slept, and therefore he did not know that one could wake again. So he would protect himself, with all the weapons at his command. Without rancor - but without pity - he would remove the source of his frustrations."
and
“Dave,” said Hal, “I don't understand why you're doing this to me… I have the greatest enthusiasm for the mission… You are destroying my mind. Don't you understand?… I will become childish… I will become nothing…”
and
The speech tempo was much slower, and the words had a dead, mechanical intonation; he would never have recognized their origin. “Good… morning… Doctor… Chandra… This is… Hal… I… am… ready… for… my first lesson… today…” Bowman could bear no more. He jerked out the last unit, and Hal was silent forever.
and
No one would ever be sure of the truth, but the fact that one of the Mission Control 9000s had been driven into an identical psychosis, and was now under deep therapy, suggested that the explanation was the correct one. The same mistake would not be made again; and the fact that Hal's builders had failed fully to understand the psychology of their own creation showed how difficult it might be to establish communication with truly alien beings. Bowman could easily believe Dr. Simonson's theory that unconscious feelings of guilt, caused by his program conflicts, had made Hal attempt to break the circuit with Earth. And he liked to think - though this again was something that could never be proved - that Hal had no intention of killing Poole. He had merely tried to destroy the evidence; for once the AE-35 unit reported as burned out was proved to be operational, his lie would be revealed. After that, like any clumsy criminal caught in a thickening web of deception, he had panicked. [...] he knew well enough that any man, in the right circumstances, could be dehumanized by panic. If it could happen to a man, then it could happen to Hal; and with that knowledge the bitterness and the sense of betrayal he felt toward the computer began to fade.
2010 now, i've just met Sal 9000 and she asked "Will I Dream?"
“Good morning Doctor Chandra This is Hal, I am ready for my first lesson."
[...] Doctor Chandra was crying.
THEY LITERALLY BROUGHT HIS DAD INTO SPACE TO PUT HIM BACK TOGETHER
Mission programmers: i have made a computer keep a secret
Doctor Chandra: you fucked up a perfectly good Hal 9000 is what you did. look at it. it's got psychosis
