Spinning is a great way to torch calories. I start sweating profusely within the first 5 minutes, and I don’t stop for an hour.
Walking into spin class today, I was feeling reluctant. I had to literally peel myself off the couch in order to get to the gym, but it was totally worth it!
Whenever I’m in spin class, I always have thoughts I "store away” so that I can retrieve them later in the night to turn into “blog posts,” but of course... these thoughts are always prompted by the music, energy level in the room, and my feel good mood (at the time)... such fleeting thoughts! As soon as I walk out of the class, I’m always struggling to find those thoughts again! Maybe I should just start taking a notepad to class? :P
There was one thought that did stick with me--mostly because I still feel the pain in my legs...
After class, I was left thinking “Dang. The instructor totally kicked my butt...” But (hah!), despite the butt-kicking, I was also left wanting more; wanting to perfect my craft; wanting to feel that “thrill” again.
This got me thinking...
I wonder if teachers have this effect on their students. More specifically, I wonder if I ever have this effect on my students.
Going into class, I didn’t want to be there, but the energy level in the room got me going right away. Everyone was so encouraging; they were excited to be there and couldn’t wait for class to start. It’s definitely something the instructor had to work at to achieve.
In just under an hour, she pushed me in more ways than one, and in the same way, I hope that I can foster a similar classroom environment that leaves my students determined and wanting more. #teachergoals

There's something so calming about this picture. After a crazy day of teaching, I'm thankful for these moments. Thank you, internet (and tumblr) for bringing me this quiet moment 😂.
Devoted readers and aspiring readers: this list is for you if you love to read (or want to read more) but don't believe reading is a competitive sport. If you need structure in choosing your books but don't want to be pinned down. If you want to stretch a bit instead of forever reading the
What do you think, Educhums? Should we tackle this?

I’ve noticed that the more active I become, the more “exercise” metaphors I use in the classroom.
“You’re almost at the finish line.”
“It’s the hardest when you first begin your race.”
“Even if you have to walk the entire race, make sure you keep moving.”

Worth it <3
People always ask me if teaching is “worth it,” and today, with confidence, I can say that it absolutely is worth it–down to the smallest moments. #summervibes #classdismissed
BUT must push through. Chug that coffee and keep going, Miss Min!
