hair and the moon: cleansing and charging routines
the moon marks cycles of release and renewal. your hair follows a similar pattern: growth, accumulation, shedding, and care. align your hair routines with your natal moon, even simple acts like washing or oiling can then become intentional resets instead of autopilot habits.

gemini moon (3°, 15°, 27°) and/or aspecting mercury: washing, brushing, and tending to hair is calming and grounding. you might mess with your hair as a method of clearing mental noise through physical repetition. washing every 2-4 days depending on how it feels (adjusting based on weather, stress, buildup, etc - embrace the mercurialness). brushing your hair at night to wind down, wash at the same time of day, and use the same scent or product consistently. over-cleansing for you might be a sign of anxiety... avoidance or under-washing might be a sign of mental overwhelm. to cleanse be wary of how you speak to yourself while caring for your hair and the environment (music, quiet, routine - hair is kinda like plants)!
leo moon (5°, 17°, 29°) and/or aspecting sun: you need 1-2 reliable wash routines, not to be constantly switching - find something and stick to it. do seasonal trims; not emotional cuts. stick to lightweight maintenance (oil, brush, leave-in - whatever just do not overload). have the same wash days each week. try soothing scalp care like massage, warm oiling, and slow brushing. as for cleansing, brush before washing it removes energetic buildup, let the water run longer than necessary, and opt for quiet washing (no rushing, no multitasking).
scorpio moon (8°, 20°) and/or aspecting pluto: wash 2–3x per week (not daily). focus on thorough scalp cleansing, not quick washes (get a scrubber and thank me later). occasionally do a clarifying shampoo (or apple cider vinegar) to break through buildup. whatever you do - avoid emotionally reactive cuts - schedule out your haircut. don't overdo products and don't ignore your hair until it's overwhelming to deal with. add a protective element to your styling - think sleek styles like braids and buns, something low manipulation.
8h moon: buildup happens quickly - your scalp can feel "heavy" when life is heavy. your hair often reflects emotional overload before you consciously notice it. what woulds for you is clarifying washes/shampoos, scalp detox treatments, and full reset cuts or shape changes OCCASIONALLY. you have to sus out on your own when these things are needed. it's important to cleanse your hair when you feel emotionally "heavy", like you've been around a lot of people, when something internal feels unresolved, and/or when you feel overstimulated.
