I just wanted to add that, in my head(canon), two fighters have to be very well tuned to one another to perform a combo magic, but when they feel very strongly for one another- have absolute faith and trust, and care for more than anyone else, they can do some sort of magic/soul marriage in which no matter where they are, they can use the other’s magical attribute and fight as if they were together even if they physically aren’t. So these two got this sort of marriage instead of a regular one- during a fight where both of them were on the brink of death, but not giving a shit about themselves and instead just thinking of something, anything to save the other, they got their souls (and magic, consequently) to connect, and now they belong to each other forever.
