Why do some people, my mom for example, simultaneously get mad when you give them help without them asking for it because they didn't want help/didn't want you to help the way you're trying to help, and then also get mad and yell at you when they don't get help when they didn't ask for help? What am I supposed to do? Read your mind??? Sorry but I can only do that in the anime and manga. I'd understand if it were someone who has trouble asking for help or communicating in general, I'm like that myself, but a lot of people who do this shit do not. In my experience most people who do this kind of thing have absolutely no trouble communicating or asking for help and yet have the nerve to just not use those skills in favor of just getting mad when people can't automatically tell what they want. Is it really so difficult to just say you want help putting things from a camping trip away? No, it is not that hard for them, they just expect you to know automatically based on whatever invisible force they use to communicate information I guess, good grief.

As an alterhuman who's going through self doubt, I have a question for my fellow involuntary alterhumans. This post may read a little like a vent as well as a question, so if you don't like that then just keep scrolling.
Question under the cut
Is it okay to identify as an alterhuman involuntarily without knowing why?
Context: I am a therian, an otherkin, and a fictionkin. I identify as many different species and characters. I am not like this as a choice. The only problem is that I don't know why I am like this. All I know about my own alterhuman identity is that I've never really felt like a human in my life even if I didn't always know what that feeling was, what species and characters I identify as (it's a growing list, but I'm very certain of the ones I already have), I've felt much more like myself ever since I've figured out I was an alterhuman and started figuring out what my kins were, and that I'd probably cry if I had to stop identifying as my theriotype, or any one of my otherkins or fictionkins because it would feel like ripping a chuck of my soul out.
But I don't know why I feel this way! Everyone I've seen in this community talk about their experiences seems to know why they are an alterhuman, some examples of reasons would be that they are spiritual and believe they were a different species or a fictional character in a past life, they have trauma, they're neurodivergent, and psychological reasons.
I'm not spiritual so it can't be that, I'm not traumatized in any way, I am not diagnosed with any sort of neurological disorder (in other words I am neurotypical), it could be some other psychological reason but I have no clue what that other psychological reason could be.
The only explanations for this I can think of for my alterhumanity are that it's a reason that I don't know about, I've actually somehow been doing this voluntarily this whole time, or I'm accidentally faking it.
So, to restate and expand on the question, is it okay to identify as an involuntary alterhuman without knowing why? Are there any possible reasons that I didn't list? If I'm not actually a therian, an otherkin, or a fictionkin, are there any terms besides those that I can use? (besides otherheart or funlink, I've already looked into those terms, and after thinking it over a lot I've recently come to the conclusion that they don't quite fit my experiences).
