WHEN I WASN’T EXPECTING THE QUITTING SWEATS TO COME SO SOON
You got this, power thru!
Studying with Trauma Tip #1
So my first tip will be probably the most important one I know, although it’s the hardest to learn.
Don’t punish yourself for not being able to do what everyone else can.
Although everyone has their own issues, especially in college, trauma and other mental health issues make it much, much harder to do even the bare minimum in classes and extracurriculars. Do your best not to compare yourself or your progress to others that have different struggles or different coping mechanisms than you.
Do your best for you, and appreciate that for the sometimes-Herculean effort that it is.
I’m proud of you, and we can do this.
Nicotine Withdrawal
I always felt like I was going crazy when I tried to quit smoking!
Looking up some of the common and not so common withdrawal symptoms really helped me to feel grounded and that I was going in the right direction. Especially since I didn't FEEL like I was.
Source: www.verywellmind.com
1. Wanting to smoke!
2. Hunger and cravings!
3. Just wanting sleep or not being able to sleep
4. Coughing
5. Flu like symptoms
6. Anxiety- I was removing the only tool I was using to cope and this made me feel unsure and shakey
7. Constipation- drink warm water or tea
8. Stinking Thinking- complaining in my head to try to trick myself into thinking it was okay to smoke
9. Wanting to cry and throw a tantrum!
In conclusion feeling like shit and feeling crazy is totally normal keep going!
I Hate his Face
I hate his Face.
It looks at me with twisted emotions- because I do not know the words that have not yet been spoken to me.
I hate his fAce.
It looks at me.
me.
me.
I hate his faCe.
It looks at me with impatience for not having the answer that he cannot find for himself-but. it is I- that am always deemed broken.
I hate his facE.
It always looks at me from behind a mask, yet I am the one that does not know myself.
I hate his FACE because I always find myself back- looking into this face I hate.
And only I can take the blame.
Day 1 v Day 12
I’m thinking the blogilates ab challenge is helping me along 🌿
